This morning on the way to work I saw a bit of an altercation between a cyclist and two runners. The council built a segregated cycle lane about 5 years ago by taking space from a lovely wide road and they left the pavement in a very average state of repair. The two runners were using the cycle lane and the cyclist was obviously taking exception. There were many waved arms as I came past. Some (many) cyclists really do give the rest a bad name!!

One I didn’t see many of in California when I lived there, a Plymouth Barracuda muscle car. Bright yellow with wing on the back. Fantastic piece of American iron.

Two somewhat unusual private car taxis today. First was a Tesla (Model 3), which didn't stand out at all until it was going past me (opposite direction, for clarity!) and I saw the door decal, and .. .. a 67-plate Meriva! Never seen either of these as taxis before.

There are a few Model 3 taxis in Dundee but most electric taxis are Leafs.

I've just been along to St Andrews and on the way saw an immaculate Mk1 Focus saloon in a gloss blue - it looked as if it had just come out of a showroom, even the suspension arms and exhaust were still silver.
Also saw a 1 lady owner from new Rover 25 with the 'off-road' bits on it.

Thanks Tim. Your post started me looking at Mk1 Focus RS, then other cars and then I found a really nice Mondeo ST that’s fully loaded and is in great condition and 3 years younger than mine and well priced. I want it.

Stopped beside this Insignia V6 (😆😆😆) on the way to work this morning. The extra body parts were some of the worst I’ve seen…

Traffic was light this morning so I went on the Motorway to work, instead of going through one of the local towns. After leaving the motorway, and on approaching the second of 3 roundabouts, I saw that traffic was blocked in both lanes for the 1/2 mile or so between roundabouts 2 and 3. Cunningly, I went right at roundabout 2 and drove around the traffic to the next roundabout, taking about a mile or 2 more but missing all the traffic, and getting onto roundabout 3 fairly quickly.
It was then that I saw the cause of the disruption. Emergency services were tending to a fire in the car park at the customer site. Someone’s vehicle had caught fire and was causing much disruption. A lot of speculation was pointing to it being an electric car, as the fire brigade didn’t seem to be doing much. I wasn’t curious enough to visit the site and ended up not hearing anything about it.
I also saw a Jaguar XJ which looked rather good- it was not on fire.

No picture as I was driving. A grey AMG GT Black Series, bit too much for me but it did look like it had just driven off the track. It was close to MB UK in Milton Keynes, registration MR67 AMG which a google search suggests belongs to a Youtuber.

Not by me, but my daughter, out & about in Edinburgh today. She said it was a bit rusty round the sills, but otherwise pretty tidy.

I heard and then saw a Datsun 240Z this morning on a 1974 plate, followed by a 25 year old Toyota MR2 and then a Nissan 300ZX. Must have been going to a car meet somewhere. The Datsuns are a rare enough thing these days.

Funnily enough, I saw a white Datsun Coupe of some description in Shotley Bridge twice over the weekend.
It wasn't a Z car but had ST in the grille and quad lights. Maybe a Sunny. The styling of the 70s Datsuns I quite like - almost American muscle car like.
Edit, may have been a Silvia after a quick Google.

Last week rather than today.. How do you clean your tram tracks if you don't have a cleaning tram? It was very impressive to watch the transformation from road truck to tram truck. I presume that cameras were involved so that the driver could stop exactly in position above the rails

Many of the CalTrans pickup trucks have railway wheels that can be lowered when they are working in level crossings and the like. Saw a Jaguar MK11 yesterday and an Aston Martin DB11 convertible, the driver waved at me, possibly because he was admiring the Mondeo, or because I let him out on a narrow road. I’m believing the former.

This morning on the way to the airport, an Alvis which on further googling, turned out to be a TA21. Then on the drive through Norwich, 3 Lotus Evoras, all black, all on 24 plates so probably all going to somewhere together. They joined the road as if they were coming from Norwich Football Club so might have been doing something there.
