Are they the seats with the torture device in the middle?
For more normal 3/4 series I generally prefer the estate although obviously now the coupe is at the top of my list but the saloon is a definite last (unless you include the cabrio in which case that's bottom).

I have a neighbour who bought the new M4 as soon as it came out and replaced it with an M3 Touring as soon as they were released. Like most women, my wife hates the Touring and quite liked the M4 whereas I probably slightly prefer the Touring. However when either of them was parked with the nose facing the street there was no wow moment or deep seated want. Both cars have been fitted with the carbon buckets which whilst comfortable to be in when driving are a complete pain in the neck if you are getting in and out regularly. I wouldn’t go as far as hate, but Lindsay doesn’t like estates either. As a general rule, they are slightly ahead of SUVs which is something I suppose, but if / when she’s running the main family vehicle she might not have much of a choice. The carbon buckets would be a big no for me if running one as a daily (which you would), so it’s a shame they are compulsory with the Ultimate pack as that’s the easiest way to get a full leather interior and decent spec. In theory I should have a lot of want for an M3 Touring, but I don’t, I’d much rather have a B3.

There was an absolutely filthy electric SUV in the car park last night (so, nice to see one that clearly gets some decent mileage). It was a GTX, apparently a VW product. So what is it - I presume its based on the ID4, rather than ID3, due to size and it appeared to have a slightly more sloping rear window. It appears to me that they're creating the ID brand and then confusing things by ditching that (at least in the badging) for the slightly, I repeat slightly, different 'sporty' versions of their electric behemoth**. Is that right? ** As I walked past it I'm sure there was a bow in the floor that wasn't there in the morning

The GTX is still an ID4. It's just the sportier model but I think it is only badged as GTX for some unknown reason - maybe it's going to be VW's version of Cupra or DS

I saw my first Lotus Emira in the flesh in the supermarket carpark yesterday. What a spectacular looking car and very low to the ground. It really looks special and from what I could see inside, it also looks very well finished. The one I saw was in a darkish silver with a really nice shade. A quick look at the colour chart says it was probably Nimbus Grey. It's a car I don't think you would ever tire of looking at.

There was one at the Glamis Motor extravaganza in the summer. I thought I'd posted it .. .. perhaps not!

Mustang GT350. Didn’t think anything of it until I realized that RHD versions are a rarity in Ireland.

At the weekend I saw a Smart ForTwo with jacked up suspension and large diameter knobbly tyres! I was tempted to turn round to catch it up just so I could watch it go navigate some roundabouts (of which there were plenty as I was in Glenrothes at the time)

Yesterday on my way home, I rounded the roundabout in the left lane (one with road markings to turn right where I was going, as most of the traffic goes that way towards a motorway) when the lane beside me slowed and stopped. In front of them was a new Peugeot 508 (5008?) estate, with all its airbags deployed. To the left, was another vehicle which had been rear ended by the aforementioned Peugeot. Looked like a fairly low speed impact as the front of the Pug wasn’t too badly damaged, but the curtain bags were all deployed. Not a nice way to start the commute home.

Saw a Porsche 718 GT4 in full Martini racing livery this morning. I actually like it. Don’t think I’d drive one daily but I like it.

For the last mile-or-so on my way home today I followed a Porsche 912. F-plate but with the "F" at the end, so from the 1960's. A quick google shows that it is a cheap 4-cylinder version of the 911. I don't recall ever seing one before; it looked in very good condition and from the way it was being driven, no doubt owned by an enthusiast

I was in Prague this evening and spotted a locally registered Porsche 911 Dakar edition. Unlike the press cars it was unstickered and looked (relatively) subtle in silver.

It's a brave man or woman who specs a car that colour, let alone an Aston Martin.

Drove past a 2012 Fisker Karma in Dublin this morning. It had a California license plate with an Irish reg on it. Completely illegal of course. Went for a run past Bono’s house (that’s part of his garden in the pic below) and saw a Maserati Quattroporte which isn’t really unusual but there was also a mk2 Golf GTi 16v which was very tidy.

I used to occasionally see a Porsche 911 (late 90s version) in that colour but, even worse, a lot of the interior matched, e.g. the seat backs.

In an odd way I think it sort of suits it. It still looks bloody awful but not overly offensive.

This 3 Series in the photo is parked outside an abandoned house. The house is owned by a developer and the house/land is probably worth about 2 million, based on the location. The building has 24hr monitoring by a security company, but while the car is left there, the grounds are well maintained too. Interesting idea to keep people stay away from it.

The first Eletre I’ve seen on the road. I’m not sure how car taxes work in Malaysia as the price isn’t that much different to the UK (£115k), whereas a base petrol engined ex demo Panamera I saw in KL was listed for £215k! It’s not for me.

How the hell would anyone know what that is without reading the badge? I know. I’ve seen quite a few Chinese EVs in the last few days. I’ve no idea what most of them are, this is just another one of them.

A Ferrari 365 GT4 2+2, I only knew the name after googling it. There was also a Jaguar XJ6 being followed by a guy on a similarly aged Vespa.

Interesting convoy earlier this morning. 991.2 GT3, GT4 and 4 x Civic Type R one of which was the latest one. They were heading North past the reservoir, looking at the map, I can see why they chose this road. It’s out best way to the airport, so will experience it in a fully loaded lesser Honda at the end of the week….
