I posted this in the YouTube thread, but it really belongs here, so no apology for posting again. Actually, the car absolutely belongs in my garage. I just need to find a way to have another built to the identical spec

I'd like that powertrain in a S3 XJ12, or something very similar in an X300 V12.
Manualising a V12 is a win on all fronts, massively increased performance, driveability and economy.

I had a go in a 5.3 XJS once. My overall impression was of a marvellous engine strangled by an ancient, three-speed slush box.

As XJCs go that is wonderful and such a massive improvement from where it was before.
Thoroughly enjoyed the chat with Johnny Smith but disappointed Harry didn't give him a clip round the ear for all the piss-taking directed at him on the Smith and Sniff podcast!

I love Harry's excitement picking up his new car. What a looker the Emira is and he is a brave man heading straight off for a European Tour!

He was indeed one very excited customer. I hope that more customers get that sort of treatment. I imagine it must really enhance the buying and ownership experience and help Lotus get more brand loyalty from their customers.

Factory collection is something I've always really wanted to do. Ideally with a trip back home via some great roads and scenery and making a proper road trip of it, rather than 100 miles back from Norfolk!
As has been said, really good so see his genuine excitement.

That was a good set of videos. Lotus could use them for promotional purposes!

He was even more excited and emosh over getting his Lancia back!

He was even more excited and Smosh over getting his Lancia back! It takes some dedication to spend over 80 grand restoring a car you only paid 15 grand for in the first place but given its rarity he's probably added more than that to its value.

Did anyone see what the RS500 went for ? BB posted about it in The Small Ads section. Some of the cars went for what looked like a reasonable figure but that was absurd!!

I watched the JCB hydrogen video at the weekend and it seems the dream ticket. If hydrogen can be produced and stored at an affordable level this surely removes the need for battery vehicles entirely? The savings in rare earth materials would be massive, even from the exhaust systems that wouldn’t need anything like the same air cleaning technologies. Properly exciting technology.

And there are the other alternative fuels, such as those trialled by the VSCC and Bicester Heritage. The rush to BEVs is a fool's errand.

I like hydrogen over things like biofuel as there is no carbon emission so the ability to remove big bits of the exhaust system allow for weight savings and packaging reformulation. But the bigger prize is energy independence and abundance.

This one came up in my YouTube feed and s a great watch, what a car! This is basically my ultimate hero car, but its rather a shame they've gone from £160k to £3.5M!!! Nice to see one being driven properly... Also, nice to have friends that let you drive 1000km - in winter - in their irreplacable £3.5M Ferrari! I wonder what the insurance is like to drive that for decent distances on the road..........
