I understand that £380 is quite cheap for a handbag......it works on the same principle ratio of cost reduction that we use for Bike/Golf/Car equipment costs to the Mrs

Ironically we tried to change all 4 but were told the rears are only half worn so no need to swap them...... I'll go back and insist they swap the 4mm tyres to cross climates too

We went and had 2 new tyres for the Yeti fitted today, 2 cross climates to replace the original Hankook tyres 2mm front and 4mm rear, not bad after 38k.
I asked for them to replace the 2mm fronts and Costco refused saying they had to do a rotation and put the 4mm rears on the front?
He maintained you wanted the best grip on the rear and could go round corners faster! I said it didn't make sense given you would want the best multi season tyres on the front driven wheels, rather than half worn fairly crap summers but he was not for shifting! Even said it was what Michelin instructed them to do...
Is it me or is that a crazy policy and a bit dangerous?
Got to decide if I swap the tyres back round tomorrow or if we bite the bullet and get another 2 fitted early.

My Benz, at five years old, has only just clocked over to 20,000 miles. Just over 2,200 of those since the beginning of August when I bought it. Trying to decide if it is worth getting a a set of winter wheels and tyres, but no suitably tempting bargains at the moment. What size are they James, I have the OEM winters for the c class coming available soon, barely used tyres.

Generally OEM eg the Merc winters are the stock 17s for the model in grey (I actually prefer them to the night painted summers)
Porsche has a Turbo Thomas bespoke exhaust, and a couple of OEM upgrades eg leather wrapped grab handles
Lotus has numerous upgrade projects planned, rx8 seats, short shift kit and maybe a trip one day to barnosport to swap the Isuzu motor for a 1.5 ecoboost triple.
My MK2 Golf has OEM door speakers, eibach anti roll bars and springs, golf ball knob. E30 also got OEM leather steering wheel, fog lights, map light mirror
Basically I follow the rule of trying to keep it looking stock with period options retrofitted and I'm a sucker for leather wrapped trim!

That's a shame, you had your heart set on it. Is that chap the only one who does the kit or could you get it fabricated by someone else?

What is Portofino like in the metal? Looks quite dull on the configurator, is it better in real life? Looks better on a FF, but so would any LR colour! It looks like doom blue, does it improve in sunlight do you think?

Yup in the ST it is about 180bhp, the other is the BMW/mini 1.5 triple which again can chip up from its stock 136bhp quite easily
I like a triple, better sounding than a 4, it's a potential swap one day for the Lotus Isuzu engine

How much is a 1.5 ecoboost triple? They are tuneable?

'Interesting' point on the configurator, on an AB with my preferred choice of 18"wheels style 5075 the electric range has dropped to 39miles (£3600 extra tax) yet if I spec the style 5074 18s it shows as 40miles.
I knew specing smaller wheels impacted on co2 and range but didn't think the style of wheel would make a difference!!
Or is the configurator dodgy!! Answers on a postcard.

The order is being honoured as an existing one.....no guarantees if I swap to Autobiography that they won't take the opportunity to cancel it.
Just managed to negotiate the removal of the £1500 cancellation fee which takes the pressure off somewhat!

The issue is they say they have to build it before it can be given a definite figure.....sure BMW don't have this problem!
