I went to check the status of my old Porsche 993. I was upset to find out that its MOT ran out in 2022 with no further update. On investigation, it turns out the car is in the process of having 350K spent on a restomod. What does 350k get you in terms of work done to a 911? Hopefully for £350k they'll at least buff out the bumper chip my 911 put in yours when I left the handbrake off at Prescott!

All my various cars are insured whilst off road, but that is mainly due to maintain agreed value cover rather than being aware of any lawful reason.
If it was worth peanuts I'd just sorn and leave uninsured

.... Then an interview with the Society chap that features in the story. He did mention one thing that hasn’t made the online feature: “…and of course they’re a good food source for owls.” So many wildlife stories are sugar coated to avoid the reality or avoid uncomfortable truths that don't fit the narrative. We recently bought some horse hay and a hibernating hedgehog was in one of the bales. We dare not release it here as the local badgers will just eat it - they love hedgehogs. So we've got a friend to take it to their more urban back garden, where it was quite happy eating catfood after waking up and wandering off into the undergrowth. We've not seen a live hedgehog at home for over 25 years. But when you look a all the hedgehog rescue sites there is no mention anywhere of the threat that badgers pose to hedgehogs. In fact one even states that they are against badger culling. It is an interesting subject, I wanted to re-home some hedgehogs but the sanctuary refused as we have badgers.... ....my brother is a professional Badger expert (he is licensed by English nature to come up with set relocation etc)and swears blind they don't eat them. No idea where the truth lies.

Your experience of driving the Juke matches my own. It got me from A to B in kind of an emergency though, so there's that. I took out Questor insurance a few years ago, on the recommendation of a few on here; Enterprise still tried to talk me into their own additional cover! Another reason for ditching them for Uncle Arnie .. .. I hired a Panda (my god that is a slow slow car) last week in Crete. The lady behind the desk swore blind that my annual multi trip cover didn’t cover all sorts of things that it definitely did. I think the annual policy was £40 odd quid - they were asking for $180 euros for 7 days. Minimum of $350 cost for any damage even if just a small exchange of paint. Similar if you need to be towed. My experience of hiring a car in Crete many years ago (Citroen C1 one year and Micra the next) was they were all battered and shagged but unless they were returned undriveable they didn't seem to care!

Not sure but I have on occasion handed over the 'wrong' card and it has gone back on it. Useful as in one instance I had cancelled the original payment credit card.
