The Mondeo was on my list to replace the 320 but since I'm going to apply man-maths to get a 3 litre petrol the Mondeo drops off. It's a handsome car in estate guise if it has the big wheels and is the right colour.

Yes, I saw a new Defender on the road on Sunday. A silver 5dr. At a distance, the styling contrives to make it look smaller than it is.

I have seen a few Defenders about, but we are not that far from Gaydon and the Fosse Way has long been a JLR test track. I think they look great and are a good modern take on the classic LR look.

I would like to predict the next series of Top Gear has a feature on the F40, XJ220 and Diablo - possibly driving around the roads of North Yorkshire.

I followed a base model on small wheels for a short bit and thought it was some hideous new Hyundai, it took a while to spot the badge as I didn't really want to look closely. They've really lost the plot.

Whoops. It'll be suitably insured and at least he wasn't harmed. Suspect he may have lost it whilst doing an overtaking shot with the camera vehicle so probably wasnt going that fast. Just shows how difficult 90s Lambos are to handle.

I saw 'our' bin lorry (it's distinctive because it's a small one to fit round these narrow roads) in a field a couple of miles away earlier on. Going by the skidmarks it'd clearly braked hard and then swerved to avoid someone who was, presumably, slowing to turn left at a junction. There was a rather large circular crack in the windscreen in front of the passenger seat.....

Loud roar outside my 2nd floor study window just now - looked out into a moment of clear blue sky and past roared the Red Arrows in a V formation with the Patrouille de France in close V formation behind them heading towards Westminster.

I saw a McLaren Speedtail going the opposite way to me through Wisborough Green this morning. It really does look long and purposeful. It's not necessarily an attractive car in the traditional sense but, like the Senna, I think it looks great for its design being so specifically for the a purpose.

2 new Defenders in 2 days, locally. I really, really do like it. If I had the means, I would definitely have one.

I've seen a few on those i30 N things about recently and they seem to have pretty fruity sounding exhausts on them. Nice crackle on the overrun. The fastback version is pretty nice to look at.
I also think I saw one of the less shouty Civic Type Rs the other day, but I didn't get enough of a look to be 100% sure about that...

Mercedes EQC in white. I'd never heard of it and had to look it up. It looked like an Audi.

I saw a Merc today, a 20 reg GLA. Hope they got a hefty discount with the new one imminent.
Also saw a DeLorean moving under its own power and someone riding an original Honda C50.

I passed Outrams Garage in Tynemouth and they had a DeLorean parked outside. I'm going to pop back in 2019 and have a look at it this weekend.

Just had a quick look and it was back in September. Interesting table at the bottom of the article. Around 45mins into your journey you'd be getting seriously annoyed if you'd chosen the Jag or Audi and after 3.5 hours, you would only be 21 miles into the journey and potentially getting serious range anxiety. Hopefully the infrastructure has improved since then.

I remember they had a lot of trouble getting the Jag, and possibly Audi, to hook up to a charge point, instead having to drive around to find a few to try.
If they're having that trouble on a main traffic corridor it'll be decades before there's decent coverage for a lot of cars in the less populated areas. Or the north!

Fuel cell cars are much worse. My nearest hydrogen fill point is in Swindon. An hour's drive on a good day!

Saw an F type R the other day. Jags aren’t too common where I live so unusual to see such a good one. Not car related but a snake slithered across the path yesterday when I was out for a run and tonight, a lizard ran across in almost the same place! Snake wasn’t poisonous and was only a baby.
I did see a Subaru WRX yesterday that was immaculate. That’s a car related itch I’d love to scratch sometime. Probably harks back to me watching WRC in the 90’s and living in a place where fuel is cheap enough to consider one.
