Saw a Chrysler Crossfire today. Not a popular car on this side of the Atlantic despite it being home grown. Still don’t like them. Better known as the Friendlyfire in the US I think? Not actually how grown, I think they were assembled in Europe.

Are they the one where the coupe has a side profile that rather closely resembles that of a dog squatting to do its business? (Might have been a certain Mr Clarkson that pointed that out)

Today, a black Rolls-Royce Dawn, Black Badge model. I much prefer the 1920s version.

Someone is happy that car dealerships are open today.
My neighbour left this morning in his MP4-12C and has just returned in a Volcano Red 650S Spider (with his plate on), lovely looking car and sounds better than the old one.

Just been into town briefly and spotted a 1984 Escort 1.6i Cabriolet and a Ferrari 360 Spider, the latter being driven.

Yesterday as I was approaching home, a very tidy blue 02-plate Passat estate came towards and past me wearing a square UK front number-plate. Ooh, I thought, being a car-nerd, I bet that's a W8. A glance in my rear-view mirror showed a square rear number-plate recess and four chromed tailpipes, so indeed a W8. Can't remember the last time I saw one. I wouldn't have bothered mentioning it, but then lo and behold what pops up on Pistonheads today but a Spotted piece on the W8....funny old coincidence: www.pistonheads.com/news/ph-spottedykywt/volkswagen-passat-w8---spotted/42530

More interestingly, today's spot was a yellow Ferrari F50 going down Earlsfield Rd.

I think F50s went through a (comparatively) unloved stage as well, and are now worth mega-money.

Saw a Noble M12 today. I can honestly say, I’ve never seen one on the road in America before.

There was a Porsche meet at Waitrose today, I think. There was a new 992 Cab and two new shape Macans.

Yesterday morning, in fact, rather than today. Passed by a McLaren 570S being driven pleasantly sedately (80-ish), despite being mercilessly tail-gated by a window-licker in a rather clapped out C-Max.

On the way home a short time ago, within a few seconds of each other, a pristine-looking Renault 4 and a yellow Huracan with the registration BU11YEL.

Doesn't look a whole lot worse than what the Yanks did to Lamborghinis with their crappy bumper treatments.

That reminds me of something a friend once said surrounding a deal he wanted to make with me. I was supposed to buy an 11k Chevie Camaro and give it to him, he was going to pass on to me a six month old Datsun Cherry that he paid 10k for new. I pointed out that neither car was worth the money and he pointed out that he had put 'go faster stripes' on the Datsun and "That's got to be worth something". No, I did not fall for it.

New defender on the road. A 110 (I think that’s all that’s available yet?) in the light green seen on many of the press cars. Looks stunning - one of those cars that looks like it escaped from the design studio before some mean spirited commercial guy stripped all the fun out of the design to save cost.

I saw my first Defender 110 on the road yesterday too. In silver. Dramatic and real wow factor. It just looks totally different to anything else on the road. Also yesterday, out of the corner of my eye I saw the front end of a car as it pulled out of a parking space and thought "that looks smart". Then I realised it was a 19 plate Mondeo in black with a black pack. That is looked somehow "right" must say a lot about how a lot of other car design has changed for the worse in past years. Then I saw the back and reminded myself that I have never liked the rear end of the Mondeo. It just does not look right.
