I saw one of those a couple of weeks ago and it was so forgettable I forgot to post about it until now. It's a nice, technical sort of design but then so is everything else (without the 'nice' part in the case of things like BMW's new 1 series).

I saw a Corsa the other day. Inoffensive and forgettable but seriously large.

We had a parade of Italian supercars pass through our village earlier. This included an F40, a red Diablo an Alfa 8C and McLaren 650S among the usual suspects (F430s, Gallardos etc). I was driving down to the hardware store at the time so didn't get to stop for pictures, Local NHS hospital shipping in some private consultants from Harley Street?!

A 'HU63 FUD', on a white SQ5. Seemed appropriate for the way it was being driven, even if all spaced correctly!!

...a new shape Pug 208. Not exactly pretty but less visually offensive than most small cars

Saw a new 7 series - white, de-chromed with the gloss black grille. Jesus H Christ, what a munter.

Coming back from work this afternoon (I was called in to help out due to low numbers of staff on site)....... I was followed on the M25, then onto the M3 southbound (and then overtaken) by a new RR Phantom on trade plates...... black over silver

I can't be sure, but it must have been an 840i from the way it sounded. It sounded like a snarling six, it couldn't have been the 840d. I was pleasantly surprised how vocal it was, GPF included now. I wonder if that is the 8 to have, not the heavy four wheel drive V8's that cost considerably more. RWD, petrol six, classic BMW. When you start getting to the 100k plus needed for the 850i and M8, I struggle, given the competition at that price.

I got an email from an Edinburgh BMW dealer with a delivery mileage 840i for mid £50K's at the beginning of the week so they are massively more affordable than the big engined ones. Doesn't make the rear seats any more usable though!

Blimey, I wonder how much a 640i Coupe was when new? The 8 was supposed to push BMW more upmarket, but the reality is that its been heavily discounted just like the 6-Series Coupe was. Only with the 8 its worse, being more expensive in the first place. It was always going to happen, and its why Mercedes won't make a replacement for the S-Class Coupe and Cabrio.

I wonder if they will eventually come up with a crossover styles coupe/convertible in the same class. Mind you the next Z was supposed to be, for some time, a crossover.

Here’s a couple from the last few weeks before isolation. The Prius was so ridiculous I had to take a icture of it and the GT3 was very nice.

Just saw Shmee in Sainsburys. Turned up in an F12, with someone else in a Merc GT-R. When that F12 started up.....

A red Vauxhall Signum. No idea how many were sold but believe not many. Essentially decent sized for a hatchback but priced more in the premium end of the market. Reasonable nick but hard working.

I haven't seen a Signum for ages. A younger member of my flying club has one of the 3-litre diesel models. He's had it about 2 years or so now, finally got it how he wants it and loves it!

Were they not intended as tourers?

Yesterday's spot was a BMW Z1 being driven with some enthusiasm. I can't remember when I last saw one, let alone being driven.

Round here it seems to be E-Types. I've seen three different ones in two days, to add to the one we saw on Sunday.

Vauxhall Cascada on the way to Hasda. Just another convertible. Not a great car. I hired one for a long weekend away as I wanted a convertible to maximise the experience of driving around the Monaco circuit (which it did), but it says a lot that I only have one picture of it and that's from a distance!

Well, it WAS being driven by a bottle blonde from what I saw. Longish hair but that is not indicator these days.

The Moreton-in-Marsh and Chipping Campden area was knee deep in Morgans today, with several Porsches and a Triumph Stag for company.

Saw a Chrysler Crossfire today. Not a popular car on this side of the Atlantic despite it being home grown. Still don’t like them.
