Cannot for the life of me now remember what the moniker for the fourth Spice Girl was... Scary Reason I remember, not that I had any interest in pop music, is that I worked somewhere and the IT servers were named after spices, eg Dill, Parsley, Ginger. Someone had suggested in jest that they needed to also include the Spice Girls, so that was duly done and we ended up with 4 servers named Posh,Sporty, Scary and Baby .... totally out of keeping with the rest of the "sequence"

She only went down if she knew the person going to service her had loads of money..... . I used to fancy her a lot but clearly I'm not in that ball park. One of my most amusing moments was meeting Christian Horner at a dinner with his first wife. My own W2.0 (as she was then) pointed out that Mr Horner's own W1.0 was decidedly not close to him in any sense at all throughout the evening. A couple of years later he attended a dinner with Adrian Newey as guest speaker and his W2.0 (aka Ginger) was also there. I had to keep mentally stopping myself when I spoke to avoid talking about his ex.

I had to keep mentally stopping myself when I spoke to avoid talking about his ex. I was giving a speech at my sister-in-law's second wedding and a twat of a mate of mine kept referring to her and her previous husband's name, in the hope that I'd do the same when standing up to speak. I managed to navigate that potential pitfall and delivered my speech safely. For some reason he then decided to get up and speak, full of the drink, and managed to wish her and her ex-husband a long and happy marriage.

One of my mate's first wife was called and Sharon while wife no2 is Karen.
That's been difficult for the last 20 years or so.

Hmm company car scheme new orders on hold whilst we go through the big reorg that was in the papers last week. Nothing confirming it officially and had an email last week saying it was approved.....so may just sneak through. I'm going to leave it a few days to take its course, before calling up to check progress. I chased and got confirmation my order is on hold until the reorganisation is over.

Get ready for the mad rush to pick the best options from the reallocation list..... Whatever happens, it won’t be as bad as when I got pushed into a Peugeot 806 2.0 petrol in a similar situation. Took me 6 months to ditch it and the crazy tax burden.

Is just extending the lease on the Merc an option? That way extending it past having to take some hand me down?

What's rubbish is the lack of communication, had i not chased I would think it was still on order.
Also rubbish is the prospect of reallocation and the reorg will take the best part of a year
I'm hoping my role will flow through but that doesn't necessarily equate with ordering a car....
What's the betting that the price goes up so the leather dash has to go!!
Problems to worry about once I have a job confirmed!!

Not sure where you got with this Brian (re-org and all), but if you are able to place an order, it will most likely be a 21MY car. As well as some decent updates (pivi and pivi pro infotainment and some other bits and pieces), the Autobiography trim level has been introduced which includes as standard fit the following:
- Grey ash veneer - Windsor leather seats with Full Windsor environment - 21’’ wheel w/ Diamond Turned finished - Configurable Dynamics - Adaptive Dynamics - Matrix LED Headlights - Fixed Panoramic Roof - Electrical Steering wheel column - Heated Steering wheel - Illuminated Treadplates - Suedecloth Headlining - Premium Carpet Mats - 650W Meridian Surround 15-speaker - Configurable Ambient Lighting - 16-way heated and cooled electric memory front seats with heated rear seats
A P300e with NCO 18s in Fuji white is £55,330

Thanks CB I have seen the introduction of the Autobiography and have made some enquiries today - my situation is as follows - no news on the job yet but car randomly started to progress a few weeks ago (no way are our company that sophisticated to link the two events!!) So it is due to be built in October and delivered by 30th October - the last day I am allowed to change the spec is the 18th September - they think it is being built as a MY20.5
The AB is almost my ideal spec (just paint - either santorini black or Portofino blue) and the black pack to add as I dislike the copper bits and 18" wheels - it must be cheaper on a lease deal as I added c £110 of options and I can't see the difference between a HSE and AB being that much - but it depends on the discount level being applied. Plus the AB has suede headlining, only think it loses are a memory passenger seat and it makes no mention of memory mirrors?
They are still struggling to confirm the electric only mileage on my current order AER is 39miles (which they keep quoting) and EAER is 40miles - which is the one for the tax I believe - makes a big difference for me
My biggest problem is the current situation means it is intensely frustrating with people taking calls at the Lease Co who know very little and then nver getting a response back -and I have 2 weeks to try and get a quote (assuming it is quotable yet after being announced yesterday) and persuade LR to change the order - could be a tall order
But I now want an Autobiography!!

Fingers crossed for you on all fronts Bryan. +1 I’d guess that the AB would be cheaper on lease as the list prices are broadly the same but you wouldn’t be fitting options which are worthless after a couple of years whereas an AB would be worth slightly more than an HSE

Could you just cancel the current order (rather than changing it) and then re-order the Autobiography?

That will be my final option....the system is still showing as not being able to order due to organisation change so could be a long wait.
Some companies seem to be better as coping with WFH than others....

The order locks down for build tomorrow and JLR still can't confirm the the EAER electric range for my car (it has alternated between 39m or 40, or £75pcm!!)
Not even the factory on the day before build, will stand by the figure they give out. So unless something changes in the morning I will be cancelling it.

That can’t be £75 a month can it? My Kuga is rated at 34 miles I think and is about £120 a month total.

Yup 40miles is 6%tax, and 39miles is 10%, on a £56k car the difference is £75pcm!

What’s the alternative and isn’t the Ewok worth £75 a month more?
