Plenty of pollen in the air..... that's one reason the Fiesta got a good going over on Saturday. When I went out to get some food on Friday having not used it for over 2 weeks, it looked like it had been parked by a beach for a few days Yes I may get through a lot of quick detailer - and clean a lot of microfibre towels - in the next few weeks as I try to keep all 3 cars looking perfect after their recent attention, all it takes is some moisture after a few days of sitting still and gathering dust, and the previously barely visible dust looks awful. At least it gets me out of the house - and still on our property - for some fresh air and exercise that does not count as my "one a day"

Yes, the Fiesta needs another wash already. We had a few drops of rain in the air on Tuesday but it is now apparent that it was "dirty rain" :-(
And vey sadly last night I SORN'd the Kuga. It's in my garage with 3/4 tank of diesel but I can't see myself using it for a while. I wonder what rebates the car insurance industry is offering

Just watching the Patagonia special TG, was wondering what I would do with the Lotus. Upgrade the suspension and replace the engine would do for me but what engine? Probably something from the major sources, Merc, BMW or Jaguar. Still working on which engine but what would you do?

Exercise bike being used in lieu of swimming. God, it's boring...

Exercise bike being used in lieu of swimming. God, it's boring... I cant do more than 10 mins on an exercise bike! I bought this fancy watt bike a few years back for winter training and it just gathered dust

My lock down activities:
- I've taught my dog to play dead when I pretend to shoot him
- I've reacquainted myself with A-level maths in my new role as daddy maths teacher
- I've recreated a close approximation of a five guys burger and chocolate milkshake
Skills that I hope become highly prized in the new-world economy that follows the lockdown

Painting a couple of pieces of my office's furniture. I'm doing things that would have taken years to appear on my 'to do' list...

Normal working day for me: complete isolation Lockdown working day for me: complete isolation - the difference is nearly all my clients are closed so the projects will run out.
My brothers and I recently bought the house next door for my mum to move into - it's need a complete 'going through' from top to bottom, so that's still keeping me out of mischief when I'm not working.
My boat (not permitted to go back in the harbour yet) also needs detailing as do the cars, and I'm part way through restoring the engine bay in the Minor, so plenty to keep me occupied for a while yet.

Nothing unusual today, Hasda be done but nought else. First time I have had to queue to get into a stupor market. Most things are in short but OK supply but the old duck upstairs was limited to three incontinence pad packs. None of the frozen veg yet but that's life. I did forget sliced ham for some stupid reason but will let myself off as the sinuses and tonsil bed are a proper mare still.

Our local butcher, greengrocer and deli were all well stocked. Even with a maximum of two customers per shop I didn't have to queue. I did have to queue ouside Moreton in Marsh pharmacy for some hand sanitiser, but not for long. Aldi was well stocked and even had loo rolls. The roads were spookily quiet everywhere.

We're at 9 days stock cover on ambient and frozen products and 3 days of chill in the stores I service. Still below normal levels, but plenty of stock available and I think Tesco and Sainsbury's are further ahead in their recovery. Tesco have re-opened 2 x large warehouses that they'd recently closed to cope with the extra volume.
I've got 390 new employees (will be closer to 500 end of next week) who've started with us over the last 3 weeks, 100 of which are from other sites in our business, so they're people who'd rather work than be furloughed. I've got 384 people off sick or self isolating (excludes anyone working for us through an agency), it would normally be around 85-100.

Some shelving ordered for the office, completing my makeover and allowing some crap to be transplanted from the study so that gets tidied up too.
Now if only the tip/recycling centre were open...

Now if only the tip/recycling centre were open... Same here. I've got an increasing pile of stuff that needs to go to the tip. You'd think that social distancing at your local recycling centre (as we can't call it the tip anymore) would be fairly easy to srot out. And it is essential to get rid of stuff! I bet fly tipping increases as tips are shut.

Our local coup (pronounced cowp!) shut its gates last Friday; by Sunday, our flying field had a dumped 3-piece suite at the gate, hindering access for the woman who has her horses in a field along the forest path from our field.
Filthy fuckers.

The things you do to keep yourself occupied, though I'm not sure this isn't a non-standard size...

Just bought a new set of kitchen appliances. Yesterday I bought a sound bar for the tv. The day before I bought a box of brannigans Roast Beef and Mustard crisps off eBay and a few packets of Wispas. Today I’m doing diy and will go for a run later.

I bet fly tipping increases as tips are shut. If council staff are on full pay then it seems bizarre that the tips would be shut - although I suppose it falls under "essential trips". A short trip to the tip once a week - maintaining distancing- could sensibly be allowed surely. There is actually a huge amount that could be done with the original distancing rules - I was going to take some RC cars to a an empty car park near here for example - but I suppose people could not be relied upon to do it sensibly, and even now we may lose the one a day exercise because people are being cretins. Every time I go running there are groups of same-age yoofs about, and - last time - a few groups of Asian middle aged men. Weird. I pointlessly used a big microfibre to dry off the overnight rain from all 3 cars - all recently waxed but with a week's dust on them - all perfect again now. Small pleasures.

Local tips across Surrey all closed too. Apparently down to bring thought impossible to maintain the 2 metre spacing between people on the sites, staff and visitors/users both included

Here is an isolation classic - dig out the models from the loft and build them! Really happy with this one, the silver was a spray can and looks great...

Local tips across Surrey all closed too. Apparently down to bring thought impossible to maintain the 2 metre spacing between people on the sites, staff and visitors/users both included They haven't thought about it very hard then. Limit the number of vehicles entering at any one time and monitor. I noticed a pile of rubbish fly tipped by the side of the A19 last week and, sure enough, it's growing by the day. There doesn't seem to be a lot of common sense being applied to policing these social distancing rules. Our golf club has 4 green staff, looking after 90 acres. One will be mowing, one will be hundreds of yards away working on a bunker, another far away on a green etc. Yet I was talking to our club manager the other day and he was saying they've had to furlough 2 of them as they have been restricted to "essential maintenance" only. If there is any suggestion that clubs are using this time to make any improvements to the course at all - even it's just one man by himself, working on a tee box, then they have been told they will all be closed down full stop. It does beggar belief. Most golf clubs are on a financial tightrope anyway and this sort of nonsense will just mean that more will go to the wall.

Surrey police put up on their FB some of the examples of people breaching the current guidance and it included two men out running their RC cars which is not considered to be part of your daily 1hr of exercise so you might be out of luck with that idea.
