Land Rovers are quite useful for moving large objects.

We need a video of the towing strap stretching, until the stone then catches up and flues through the back window of the Disco, in cartoon like fashion. Or, the Disco sitting still, digging 4 holes in the lawn. I'm more curious as to why the chickens can't just stand on top of the stone.... or stand one side of it, or behind it The stone was in the way of where I plan to build the coop. Was successfully dragged into the middle of the lawn but now the question is how to move it where I need it.

I don't recall reading anything about a coop ;-)

Well I've put 3* locks on the two sets of Bi Fold doors on the back of the house after some chavvy cunt(s) attempted a break in at some point over the weekend. We reckon it was Sunday night as the MINI was parked differently on the drive meaning that the Alpina would be able to be moved out. Our keys live in metal boxes so can't be emulated so I assume they were after the actual keys. They tried to break and lock snap one set but that had a metal handle so they broke the other one (the doors were put in at different times so the doorsets are slightly different) which had a plastic handle and snapped the lock. That door, however, sticks if the bifold section hasn't gone "home" the last mm and if they'd have pulled it it would've woken the house. Plus if they'd gone in that room it's the playroom and they'd have killed themselves trying to cross the room due to the toy-Hiroshima on the floor. So now I have a new camera covering the rear of the house, a new metal handle set on the playroom door and 3* Yale anti-snap locks. I'll also re-section the alarm so that I can put downstairs on overnight, something I've not done for 8 years in the house. There's certainly one area of "business" that is showing no signs of dropping off. The traveller scumbags round here are busier than ever. Weird that. I would have thought burglaries would have dropped off, given that more people are at home all day, plus you risk breaking into a plague house! We always set the alarm at night - my wife insists.

The bodywork on the Fiesta has just been washed and polished to within an inch of its life!
Not done inside the door shuts or the wheels yet, but the paint is gleaming. It needs a sealer for best effect, will try to do that next week. Windows also need a special clean ("need" being subjective). Trouble is that this working from home thing means you end up working longer hours....won't the evenings be brighter now though?

I was planning to do something similar to the Fiat, but there was a very cold wind this morning and now it has clouded over, and my desire to stand outside scrubbing a car has somewhat evaporated.

Spare time? Err, no. Two full time jobs, one full time child. Weekdays are a 16 hour scramble to fit everything in. Weekends fractionally more sedate but still focused on keeping a not quite 4-year-old sane within current limitations.
Having said that I count us extremely lucky in many ways.

Since it was freezing cold outside, most of today was taken up either with work or with old-school cooking.
My wife made a delicious roast chicken for lunch and I occupied myself with the roast potatoes (didn't have any duck or goose fat handy, but managed to make them half-decent by making them fluffy and then coating them in lashings of butter) and making a blackberry and apple crumble with the last of our frozen wild blackberries. The carcass of the chicken then went in a stock pot to make broth.

I spent Saturday fitting flooring in the loft and because I couldn't take any more insulation dust and fibres, on Sunday I thoroughly cleaned my summer wheels and then gave them a coating of G-techniq Ceramic sealant and then a topping of G-techniq Exo before I put them away ready for fitting next week. I then washed the car and gave it some G-technic spray sealant.
I'll get back in the attic when my knees are a bit less sore too.

Saturday here was spent adjusting the smaller part of our driveway gate to re-hang it and make the entrance a bit smaller to aid with privacy down one side of the house/garden. We took both parts of the gate off a few weeks ago because they looked like they were going to break when it was at its windiest. Sunday was spent removing a couple of evergreen Leylandi type trees without the use of power tools - I had a mate lined up to do it with his chainsaw but virus restrictions have scuppered that. No cars were washed.....

Had a weekend of pottering, doing the little jobs I've been putting off. Dismantled the glass shower door we have in the en-suite to remove all the brightwork fittings and scrubbed them to remove gunk, re-fitted the door with new seals. Then I removed the glass splash panel behind the hob, cleaned it and re-painted the wall behind. I hadn't intended doing much more than that but then started touching up other areas of the kitchen paintwork, forgot the dog was loose, and turned round to see white paw prints across the floor. I collared the dog to find he not only had white paws but a white forehead and was now white down one side. Removed dog to garden where I went at him with a brush and water to remove the paint and then left him there while I went and removed the paint off the floor.

Decided not to do any jobs this weekend, especially as I did a few hours work each day, so just spent my free time with the family.
Will give the cars a proper spring clean and polish over the next couple of weeks, but no plans to do any DIY, it's bad enough being stuck in as it is....

Just had to go out to collect a prescription and it looks like someone has thrown a bucket or sand on it and tried to rinse it off with dirty water.

Plenty of pollen in the air..... that's one reason the Fiesta got a good going over on Saturday. When I went out to get some food on Friday having not used it for over 2 weeks, it looked like it had been parked by a beach for a few days

Try having local honey, Chris. They say it reduces the effect of pollen.

I recently after a long time away from hi fi bought some nice speakers and then to utilize them I bought a nice cd player .After a couple of listens I realized why I had sold my hifi stuff previously. The sound is great but compared to the convenience of mp3s cd's are frankly a pain.I am therefore currently making flac copies of my entire cd collection (around 1200 cd's ) when done the cd's will be sold (for a grand total of around £1.76 based on what people tell me)
So far I am up to bands starting with AL ,I had to buy a new hard drive as well to fit them all on in Flac format.

Dali kubik active speakers with the marantz cd 6006 se U.K. edition . It does sound like it's your listening habits that aren't suited. I'm odd in that I like to get up between tracks, have a peruse and pick something else out. In serious listening mode at least.
I'm glad you are finding a way to enjoy it.

Yes,I use the speakers as speakers,pc monitors and to play guitar along with and the last part is difficult with cd’s.I think having everything in flac format will help .

I like CDs for their quality but often I like to just sit with Spotify open on my iPad, streaming to my system, while I go on little musical odysseys as one track leads to another and I follow suggestions or remember some band or musician I want to explore further.

Spotify has been very good at playing random tracks following on from something I've chosen and its introduced me to a load of bands I would never have otherwise heard of. Ironically I'm currently listening less to Spotify while working from home to protect the piss-poor level of internet we have!
