There's a huge list of things to do here:- .....Shift a huge mound of earth to improve the view (it'll be a bummer if it turns out to be a thin layer of soil with rock underneath)... Surely that is a great excuse to hire in some serious machinery? A man can never have enough machinery. We've always got a pretty full todo list - for the farm, house and horses. So I'll just keep battling away at it. New things keep getting added to it as fast as they disappear.

I'm worried about my friend,he's not got corona or anything but this self isolation thing may lead to him dying from wanking.

Maybe the increase in home working will slow your friend's internet connection down and limit the quality of porn he can access? I was speaking to my best mate earlier and he's getting stressed about Government debt and how it will affect his 23 year old daughters future. He was going on about how long it took to repay the Lend Lease bill from the Second World War. I don't think this is quite the same. I need to add changing the toilet seats to my list. If I don't fit the soft-close lids I bought weeks ago I fear one of the pans may break from absent mindedly letting it go!

I've been gradually adding strategically-placed mass to my CD and pre-amp. They sit nearer a speaker than is ideal and I wanted to damp down the vibrations getting in via the air (isolation of a different kind) - so I finished this off yesterday. The differences are most apparent with old music, as this was often just a recording of what happened in the room, so things are placed naturally in an acoustic environment - much music in the last few decades is more a collection of cut and paste.
In Bridge Over Troubled Water you can hear that Art Garfunkel has moved during one of the vocal gaps, and trace his voice as he move back to centre stage.
In Viens Mallika From Delibes's Lakme (the piece that British Airways cribbed from in their ads about 20 years ago), it's always been apparent that the two singers turn their backs to the audience for the final few lines. Now you can tell that they are also walking away from you.
There's more detail everywhere and a more natural sound overall. I'm chuffed, given how small the cost.

Covers changed on all three sofas. Bigger job than it sounds as they have to be half-dismantled to do so. A triumph of ergonomics...

Same - we bought two sets originally - they're a dark grey/blue.
Both sets need attention as the colour has faded, although the material's still sound. Some googling to do!

Wasn't there something called dylon in the old days - add to the wash to change the colour of fabrics? I'm sure people used it on t-shirts.

I heard of a whisky found in Shackleton's base camp and remade by a part of the Whyte and Mackay group. Bought a bottle from amazon because, well to hell with it why not. Anyone know what it is like?

I've not had the pleasure.
My Naked Wines order arrived the other day. No choice in the order, you get what you are given due to volume or orders, but there was a nice bottle of grape gin included. It tastes lovely and I may have had a bad head this morning. I only had two large ones!

I was thinking of going to go to the tip/recycling centre today and offload, but....d'oh!
EDIT - just learned something by accident - if you are using IE to browse and hit ctrl + 1, it takes you to the first tab. Ctrl + 2 the second, etc. Feels like something I'll forget quite quickly, but there you go!

Unfortunately work has turned out to be pretty busy for the last few days, after an initial lull. I had already cleaned my car inside and out and given it a layer of gloss coat (as the wax still looked good). I think for the (half) the time my partner's kids are here the RC cars will be broken out and given a few runs, and one of them has some aircraft model kits to do, I have a Tamiya 1:48 Mustang and Spitfire in the attic so I may build those alongside him. It has been lovely in the sunny weather to get all of the mountain bikes out, the full suss ones were in winter storage, the brakes needed some fettling and I'll probably ride them in rotation now. That's been the plus of all this for me - while we can still go out once a day anyway - being able to run or cycle once a day in the daytime without work disapproving (various of my colleagues are Strava friends so they'd know) as they have told us to get out when we can to stay sane...

Been walking the dogs, that's it pretty much, oh and have decided to get out running, by the end of the three weeks I want to get my 5k time (done Wednesday after not rellyay being a runner and only doing it the odd time if I can be arsed, prior to that, my last "run" would have been at some point last year) down from 30 minutes to 25.
Back to dog walking, I've seen dogs that I never knew existed, I guess they are all being walked now!

Well I've put 3* locks on the two sets of Bi Fold doors on the back of the house after some chavvy cunt(s) attempted a break in at some point over the weekend. We reckon it was Sunday night as the MINI was parked differently on the drive meaning that the Alpina would be able to be moved out. Our keys live in metal boxes so can't be emulated so I assume they were after the actual keys.
They tried to break and lock snap one set but that had a metal handle so they broke the other one (the doors were put in at different times so the doorsets are slightly different) which had a plastic handle and snapped the lock. That door, however, sticks if the bifold section hasn't gone "home" the last mm and if they'd have pulled it it would've woken the house. Plus if they'd gone in that room it's the playroom and they'd have killed themselves trying to cross the room due to the toy-Hiroshima on the floor.
So now I have a new camera covering the rear of the house, a new metal handle set on the playroom door and 3* Yale anti-snap locks. I'll also re-section the alarm so that I can put downstairs on overnight, something I've not done for 8 years in the house.

We need a video of the towing strap stretching, until the stone then catches up and flues through the back window of the Disco, in cartoon like fashion. Or, the Disco sitting still, digging 4 holes in the lawn.

There's certainly one area of "business" that is showing no signs of dropping off. The traveller scumbags round here are busier than ever.

Pleased to hear they didn't get in the house BB. Still really busy with work, but at least I have a decent view out of the window, the car always looks particularly good in the sunshine as it really shows off the paint.

I know but it boils my piss that these animals are allowed to stay here at all.

Your car looks like it belongs to a neighbour! It does! The garage is at the bottom of the garden, camera zoomed in to get a clearer picture. It's closer to the next door neighbours front door than mine and theirs is at the back of the house as well.

He's got a similar age 740LD M Sport, Q8 Vorsprung and a V8 Mustang Coupe. His other neighbour has a new X5, C43 Cab and a McLaren 12C. I'm the poor neighbour in our little corner of the estate!
