It might be worth your while trying Admiral multi-car, they've happily insured my imported Toyota for a crazily small additional premium which was an unexpected surprise.

The Mazda is insured with Admiral, but I wouldn't want to use them for the Land Rovers or the TVR.

We have an Admiral multi-car policy covering the BMW and Fiat. Which reminds me that it must be up for renewal relatively soon...checks...16 November.
Assume it will be the usual annual battle where they put the policy up by £100+, I get shirty on the phone and end up paying the same as last year.

They've actually been pretty good for me the last couple of years, car changes notwithstanding I don't think I'm paying much more than I did 3 or 4 years ago.

I bought an M5 and my premium went down! 6 months before mine needs renewed.

I bought an M5 and my premium went down! 6 months before mine needs renewed. How does that work? My premium went up nearly 50%! It wasn't much (less than £10) but down is down. According to my broker, it's obviously due to me having reached a certain age! But then I have known him for 30+ years and he always likes to remind me that I am 3 years older than him! However I can't match his accomplishment (nor would I want to!) of having a 5 year old son!

Admiral did the 10% increase for me, and then offered to drop to what I'd renewed for elsewhere. Too late at that stage.

The BMW insurance is due early November and I received an email last night from one of the comparison sites with a surprising rate, £880 vs the best price this time last year of £1200. Assuming is was too good to be true, I clicked through to update the quote and after making a couple of minor changes, it dropped to £860!
It still feels like a lot compared to some of the rates shared on the forum, but I’d budgeted £1300, so that’s a nice saving.

Stayed with Footman James for the TVR for £302. I deleted the track cover as I don't see myself doing any. The car is up for sale in any case.

I thought you had decided to keep it, a bit surprised I suppose. What could replace it?

Sigh. Just had my renewal through from Admiral for our multicar policy. They want to up the premium from £630 to £794.
Insanity. Nothing has changed since last year except that we and the cars are a year older.
On the 500, they’ve upped it from £160 to £204, a near 30% increase.
On the 440i, they’ve upped it from £470 to £590, around a 25% increase.
No explanations.

I entered my driving licence number and for some reason it dropped again, to £836, but I added a better loan car and it came to £846. I’m pretty happy with that. I've also decided that my insurance is less than Johns, by converting the costs to a ppm

I wouldn’t use them again on principle, wouldn’t even give them chance to bring the price down. My current provider offered to check again as the quote was obtained over a week ago and the market changes quickly....not that quickly!
I’m the same at work, suppliers are told to submit their best price, no second chances.

I’ll have to go fight with them because actually the best individual quotes I got from the meerkats were pretty much the same as what Admiral are asking for each car.

I don't think so...

Admiral did this to me a few years ago, renewal jumped up to something like £1,500, with the 370Z alone at £790. A change to Aviva saw the whole lot drop to £750 with Admiral unable to get close.
A year later Admiral wanted around £750 for the whole lot, including the 370.
Since then their renewals have been the same or less than prior year but on the basis of this thread I'm expecting that to change in a couple of months.
