Signed up for Disney+ to watch the Mandalorian. Now kicking myself for not realising they were only uploading an episode a week as there's fuck all else on there I wanna watch. Shoulda waited until it was all available and watched the whole lot during the week's free trial period before cancelling it! Is this series 2 ?

Not sure about the new PJ track. Might require a few more listens. Once was enough tbh.

I've only listened to a couple of the tracks released so far. The most recent left me rather underwhelmed o first listen tbh; my daughter is buying me the album for my birthday, so I do hope it grows on me!!!

I think I have about 40-50 Pj albums (mostly concerts) ,every album has always been pre-ordered except this one,and listening to it on you tube I may actually avoid it,I will give it a few more listens but initial impression are not good.

Watched The Death of Stalin over the weekend. I like Armando Iannucci, but this wasn't as clever or funny as it thought it was, possibly because the joke wasn't up to being stretched over an hour and forty minutes.

Watched Gone Girl. We enjoyed it - very clever plot.
I had the misfortune to see the first 10 minutes of the Ghostbusters reboot. Never made it to minute 11. God what a load of unadulturated shyte.

Gone Girl is one we've seen but it hasn't made an impression in my memory!

Started with Designated Survivor on Netflix. So far it's pretty good, Keifer Sutheralnd as the lowly cabinet member suddenly becoming President when and attack blows up the Capitol building and everyone in it. Helps that Natascha McElhone plays the first lady..

Helps that Natascha McElhone plays the first lady.. We watched that and thought it was quite good. It's fast-paced and it'll not win any drama awards but the 45 mins it's on goes pretty quickly.

I hadn't seen the latest series of Inside Number 9 yet, so have binged on that over the past few days. Outstanding.

We've been binge watching Friday Night Dinner ahead of the new series which started last Friday. Pure slapstick comedy but extremely well written and so well acted.

*Named after the broadcast title of LoG in Japan, I believe.

No, not seen that. I shall look it up. I normally watch very little TV but, perhaps through boredom, now am searching around for some gems which I might have missed.

It sits somewhere between LoG and Inside No.9. It has the grotesquery of the former (arguably ramped up a little) but misses Mark Gattiss's contribution. And Shearsmith and Pemberton still hadn't developed to the completely rounded duo they are now. But it's worth a bash - I think you'll know whether it's for you quite quickly.

Not a film, but we're watching A Very Peculiar Practice on DVD - not perfect but redolent of its era and with wonderful performances from Graham Crowden as loveable drunk Jock McCannon and David Troughton as utter bastard Bob Buzzard.
Watched the Kathy Burke documentary series All Woman a little while ago so I got Gimme Gimme Gimme on DVD too - it's dated and features some truly crappy acting from the peripheral characters but we're enjoying it.
Also got all there series of The Inbetweeners as the kids only had the first one.

"We are here because we love you." It was essential viewing for me back then, as was Northern Exposure. I might revisit some old favourites.

It's worth downloading the podcasts Inside Inside No.9 from BBC Sounds to hear Shearsmith and Pemberton talk about each episode and why they developed as they did. Interestingly, the one about the two policemen in the car in the graveyard only came about because they didn't have the budget to do they episode they'd written and so had to hurriedly knock that one up to complete the series.

The first series on DVD costs peanuts, and there's a new box set (series 1 & 2 plus feature length special we've never seen) on eBay for £17.

Did that have Peter Davidson (ex-Doctor Who) in it?
