Started with Designated Survivor on Netflix. So far it's pretty good, Keifer Sutheralnd as the lowly cabinet member suddenly becoming President when and attack blows up the Capitol building and everyone in it. Helps that Natascha McElhone plays the first lady.. We watched that and thought it was quite good. It's fast-paced and it'll not win any drama awards but the 45 mins it's on goes pretty quickly. I think I maxxed out towards the end of series 2. As if they were running out of ideas once the culprit behind the original story-line was dealt with.

Ozark Season 3 on Netflix. also Better Call Saul Season 5. Frustratingly that's being released 1 episode a week, how old fashioned

Just watching a program about the restoration on an Avenger aircraft and it has a truly chilling moment or two. An aircraft returns to it's carrier base with its gunner dead in the turret. The crew elected to leave him in the aircraft and dump it into the water. They were showing the gunner being finger printed. It really got to me in a way the average war documentary does not and is a reminder of those who went to the see in ships etc. Perhaps I am a sentimental old bastard after all.

Pretty horrible.

HIGNFY from Friday - bizarre in self-isolation form. Far from completely successful but better than no show.

Had you seen Psychoville* before? One of them is just superb if you have!
*Named after the broadcast title of LoG in Japan, I believe.
No, not seen that. I shall look it up. I normally watch very little TV but, perhaps through boredom, now am searching around for some gems which I might have missed. Can I make another suggestion? We watched Ghost Stories last night, and it's still on iPlayer. It's co-written by LoG's Jeremy Dyson and was intelligent, well-acted and genuinely scary - or at least we thought so - without being cliched. I think it'll actually demand a second viewing to fully appreciate its depths, so blu ray ordered. Good cast too - Martin Freeman, Paul Whitehouse etc.

The Dimbleby documentary Return to Belsen last night - excellent and deeply moving. If only the light channel didn't have to keep interrupting things like this with ads. At least there was no voice over the closing credits.
There was a one-off comedy pilot on Beeb2 just after, Alma's Not Normal. Enjoyed, and would watch if it gets taken up.

I've recorded that, on the premise that it's supposed to be like the good old days. I think it well and truly lost its way from the prison-set series.

Actually, it's the classic style, very much like the old days imho.

Have to catch it then.
Finished the first series of Sunderland ‘till I die on Netflix. Didn’t expect to but really enjoyed it. Starting the second series today.

I watched the first episode of the second series of the F1 documentary on Netflix and found it quite interesting. I'd read that they got a lot more access to the top teams second time round so I'll watch this series first.

Frank Gardner, the reporter shot by terrorists and now a paraplegic trekking to see the birds of paradise he has wanted to see since 8 years old. A very moving story on how human beings with a bit of support can achieve just about anything. BBC 2 and iplayer at some time no doubt.
Sod the news hyperbole, watch this.

Red Dwarf, the promised land. A blast from the past on Dave. Not as good as the old days I thought, but better than what I've seen of the resurrected stuff. Dave's not subtle about its canned laughter track, is it?

The canned laughter has gained traction of late and is about as useful as a Camel fart in space. If they have to go to the extent of suggesting we find something funny it has failed at the first step. Not sure where this is added but certain MASH episodes had canned laughter but the dropped it later, thankfully. Talking of MASH, it is due a rerererererererere run about now.

MASH is on every night on Freeview channel 48, the Sony Channel. They usually play 3 episodes from 7pm. It always had canned laughter but when it was first shown on BBC they removed the laughter track and it remained like that for the whole of its run, with the exception of one episode where they forgot and had lots of angry letters to Points of View.

We bought the whole box set of MASH and you can choose to listen with or without the canned laughter. It's 100 times better without. We watched the first episode of Wallander last night. Its a bit slow, dour, doesn't seem to have a flow and really not very positive at all. Does it get any better?

For some reason I cannot get freeview channel 48, the last retune lost some channels and buggered up the order of the others which is curious but not a surprise I suppose. Clicknology is wonderful when it is working.
