You’d never buy new dampers for them anyway . people get them rebuilt by someone like BG motorsport for £500 a pair . Bovingdon and metcalfe have both done articles/videos on the process of having theirs done When I bought the clio off you , a trophy was exactly double the cost . I couldn’t justify double. A better car, but not that much better I doubt It was about the same when I bought it. The Cup was 4 years old at the time and cost £7500, the Trophy was only 2 years old and was the best part of £14k. I couldn't justify it either.

I have a colleague whos a flat earther, If they go to the coast where you can see the curvature of the earth across the horizon, how do they account for that and a whole load of other startlingly obvious matters? On the way to collect their Darwin award, it seems:

That hidden figures was a cracking program. Last of the three people featured has just died, though I'm guessing that 101 counts as the proverbial good innings:

The Beeb's version of 24 Hours in Police Custody, Murder 24/7 started last night - story told in three parts so I'm sure there'll be a recap. Very interesting, albeit a little too heavy on the presentational style.

What an absolute plank. In terms of the Darwin award we need to be sure he hasn't reproduced.
I find this flat Earth business fascinating for some reason. Why wouldn't they just go to the edge of the world instead?

The ice floes that hold the water in preclude that!

When I first heard about The Flat Earth Society I assumed it was some sort of debating group and derived its name from something so obviously nonsense that the fun and challenge was debating it and presenting logical arguments to support ridiculous theories e.g the earth is flat.
I didn't realise they actually thought the Earth is flat.

Not the telly per se but funny even if it is in French.

Watched Bridge of Spies when it was on the box recently - workmanlike but a story well worth telling. Hadn't seen Oldboy before but was aware of it, so when 14th suggested it last night we went for it. Less violent and far more complex than expected, though I think it'll take a second viewing to properly get to grips with it.

Bridge of spies is a well crafted film and worth a watch. Re-reading Great north road by Peter Hamilton, a bit of a tome at over a thousand pages and in hardback quite something to hold tbh, it weighs a bloody ton. Great sci-fi tale.

Rudolph Abel, the Soviet Spy, went to my school. He’s our most famous old boy.

One of our friends says My Cousin Vinny is his favourite film ever.
Finally watched it on Saturday night. Not sure it'd be anywhere close to being in my top 100 films but its amusing enough.

It is a film you can watch over and over again.
Watched Lone Survivor over the weekend which was enjoyable. A bit tarted up for Hollywood but good non the less.

Pretty decent Top Gear episode. Colin McRae was my hero growing up, and I thought Harris did pretty well with that piece.

The McRae bit was brilliant, even Harris presenting it didn't put me off. You forget how much of a lunatic McRae was - a real "send it or bend it" merchant.

Just seen a program on the helicopter missions during the Falklands war. Some of the things those people got up to is truly mind warping.

Zero Dark Thirty. Not a film with much of a soul it seemed to me, much like The Hurt Locker. Not comfortable with the stance it took in portraying torture, or rather the stance it seemed at pains to avoid taking.

Watched 12 Strong at the weekend. Obviously a bit 'Hoo Rah! USA! USA!', but even taking artistic licence, to fly into the mountains of Aghanistan at the very limit of the helicopters service ceiling and said helicopter then being hours away should the shit hit the fan, knowing full well that there was every chance they might be sold to the Taliban/Al Qaeda must've taken massive bravery or a failiure of imagination. These guys weren't waddling under the weight of their kit, it was the size of their balls.
