Cricket match of the century and tennis match of the century on the same day and, by all accounts, the GP was fairly decent too.

Cricket and GP were epic. Tennis I did not see but by all accounts made the triple.

Well the weather was way to nice here to spend time inside - but my son-in-law spent all day glued to his phone whilst we were on the boat and the beach, and even hooked Mrs L in on the super over!
But TG was a great episode to end the series on.

I guess. I was a little surprised too, but apparently there is another series to be aired this year.

The BBC really are taking the piss aren't they? I expect we'll be down to one off Xmas specials by next year.

Only 4 episodes in this series? Wasn't that episode 5 last night?

Maybe the BBC didn't want to give Freddie and Paddy too big a contract until they saw how it all went. It was certainly more humorous and entertaining than the Matt LeBlanc version in my opinion.

Such a bastard that the cricket was not on terrestrial TV. Thank goodness for the internet. What a finish!
Watched 8 Days to the Moon and Back - get it in iplayer. Really good programme using recently declassified audio from the astronauts and old film plus acted and CGI sequences. Great to relive (and see the film again) from that moment 50 years ago when it actually happened. Mrs PG and me both remember watching it at our homes. Amazing.

Or that once they'd announced the new line up a few taster episodes were knocked up to see how they went down with the viewers? The format is stale but the humour more than makes up for it. Don't really know what else they can do with three blokes and some cars, though. The seven presenter thing they tried after JC was fired definitely didn't work. On another note, I watched the first episode of Warrior last night. It's a historical martial arts series set in late 1800s San Francisco. It's made by the same crowd as Banshee and if you watched that you'll know what to expect. Lots of sex, violence and fighting!

Just watched them all. I'm not normally a fan of Paddy, but I did enjoy the episodes. Lack of Rory Reid was a bonus too.

I haven't seen a single episode of Top Gear since Clarkson and co were on it and never seen the Grand Tour, either.

I will defiantly give Warrior a go.

Maybe it was a last minute thing when England got into the final?

Maybe it was a last minute thing when England got into the final? It was announced a couple of weeks before the final that should England be in it then it would be on free to air TV. I enjoyed the last Top Gear, especially the Lotus 79 piece - even though the politically correct BBC mentioned the iconic livery without saying that everyone knew them as the John Player Specials.

You could really see the difference in the corners after they took the spanners out and dropped the side skirts down.

Made me laugh - so it's OK to "advertise" on the BBC by saying Lotus, or McLaren, or Porsche etc but not to mention a sponsor name such as John Player !

Considering that the beeb news has a new company on just about every day talking about their latest products and gets away with it, what is advertising? The reply I got from the beeb suggests that as they get no financial return it is OK. Not sure how far that particular statement is being stretched or how soon paid advertising is coming to the beeb but imho, it is coming.

Netflix has just increased its prices. Bit of a piss take as it's now twice the price of Amazon Prime. Price goes up in August. I've downgraded to the standard HD package. I can live without 4K for 12 quid a month.

I can live without 4K for 12 quid a month. It’s only £3 difference? Well worth it for the Dolby Vision/Atmos content imo. It has to be something really good for me to watch it on Netflix if it’s only available in HD now!

I can always change it back but it's the principle, isn't it. Amazon Prime is only £5.99 a month and that includes 4K. That's half the price.
I hope everyone, except you of course, does the same to send them a message.

I've knocked NowTV on the head, too. Finished Warrior and there's nothing else on there I want to see.

A little bit of wee just came out after watching the Top Gun 2 trailer. Its going to be great. No doubt Tom will be trying not to laugh all the way through like a modern day Kelly's Heroes.

Mrs M appears to be unimpressed by James Mays reassembler programme....I even sense mocking 😀
It was very interesting watching put a food mixer back together 😁

Got them both on DVD!
For those of us who don't pay for Sky, Chernobyl is available on BR/DVD and to stream via Amazon. Looking forward to that.

We had it switched off for a while but I put it on for a month to watch Game of Thrones which almost made think I’d wasted my money but then I watched Chernobyl and felt much better about it. I’m prepared to give Netflix the benefit of the doubt as it’s the first price rise I’ve had in 3 years but we only use 2 devices so I might downgrade it.
