The gig (which was utterly brilliant!) finished at 11pm and we were walking in the front door at 12:15. That's not too shabby since we were a) in the Micra b) Mrs Tim missed the turning onto the M8 and c) Even at that time o fnight there were enough fast lane hoggers to be a nuisance.
I've spent a relaxing day having the following conversation, repeated numerous times:-
Colleague: Oh Tim, did I hear right, were you at a gig last night? Me: That's right
Colleague: Who was it? Me: you'll never have heard of them, do you really want to know?
C: Yeah, who was it? Me: Fields of the Nephilim
C: Who? Me: FOTN
C: Who are they? Me: The band I went to see last night
C: Oh, you like that funny music don't you. Were you headbanging? Me: No. Can I go now?

I saw the Manics at the ironically named Majestic Theatre in Detroit in 2008, I think.
More recently I saw Mark Knopfler at the Metro arena (or whatever it is calling itself these days). I am a massive fan of his music and I thought it was great.
The Fratellis at O2 Academy a couple of years ago were also superb. Younger crowd than I expected.
I need to sign myself up to the local arena mailing list.

Last nights TG was hilarious.
Poor Harris does look a little out of his depth however, trying to keep up with Flintoff and Paddy is a difficult task and he's clearly the stooge

Lindsay loves the sound the E63S made, but apparently it was ruined by being an estate, so we don’t agree on everything.

Saloons/sedans make no sense to me Yes, why would you want less weight, greater efficiency, handling and performance along with better looks and in some cases, more practicality? Senseless!

I thought the E63 as an estate looked great.
Mrs. Sacamano commented that they need to be careful as the treatment of Harris is starting to look like bullying. Sensitive soul that she is.

I did start to wonder the same tbh but he seems to be taking it on the chin. Doesn’t help that Freddie keeps picking him up!

He’s fine.
“Need to tell you all that Fred and Paddy are two of the kindest people I’ve worked with. We’re good pals and I’ve never felt remotely picked-on. I’m small - so what? We all give as good as we get. And who gets to slide the supercars? Me! It’s just telly, and I’m loving it!”

I think Harris is enjoying himself immensely.
When he first appeared I feared that he was like Chris Evans - so excited to be a presenter that he was over-enthusiastic, almost shouting every word instead of speaking normally and talking too fast for TV. IMHO Evans never overcame this, but Harris quickly adapted and adjusted; I like him a lot as a presenter of TG

He gives as good as he gets most of the time. Wasn't it he who called Flintoff a 7 foot rabbit? Most of the time he's nearly crying with laughter so I can't, for one second, believe he's not enjoying every minute.

Rocketman.
It's a film about Elton John. What more do you need? I want more rock biopics now - I hope someone makes one about Black Sabbath.

I was tempted to watch The Dirt, but never got round to it. I, too, despise Motley Crud and everything they stand for, but I've heard the book is pretty eye-opening.
I've read Ozzy's autobiography and that would make a great film.

I started watching The Dirt but haven't gone back to it.
I thought they could've got better lookalikes too (ref the hunt/Lauda film comments).
