Thoroughly enjoying these:
Recently read The Silence of the Lambs for the first time - never read a book that was adapted quite so completely to film.
Not seen this since I was at school - seems painfully clunky to modern eyes, and seemed (like Superman) to have its own curse:
A good film, if missing something:
Didn't watch this at outset, but having been rather disappointed with Luther, we thought we'd give it a bash. Excellent thus far.

I couldn't get on with PB because the actors' Brummie accents were so, how shall we say, ...varied. It got on my nerves. The spy/mole girlie is exceedingly pleasant to the oculars, though!

You do get used to the accent. Mrs 12th went to Brumingham Uni and says the accents are closer to what you'd hear than you might think!

Couldn't get into Peaky Blinders - tried twice. I have discovered American Horror Story on Netflix and just finished the first series. It is odd, but compelling.

This popped up on my Deezer discover new stuff thingy. Song's nothing new but a great voice.

I loved Peaky Blinders, I thought it was extremely well acted (even Tom Hardy’s cameo appearances).
I know this thread is for more traditional forms of media but if im not the only one listening to a fair few Podcasts these days, can I recommend Dan Snow’s History Hit? It has some excellent stories on there and I’ve found some of the more obscure tales from history quite fascinating to hear about.

917 on GT was awesome, though the faux-modern Lancias don't float my boat. Too caricature-ish.

I've caught up a bit, but still 1 episode behind on GT, so watched the Bentley/Aston/BMW episode last night. Bentley for me, budget allowing, but pleased to hear James being extremely positive about the engine in the 850 and it sounded exactly like mine. Not a huge surprise given its the same engine and I've got the M Sport exhaust, but it does sound great for a (non-performance model) big saloon, even more so when you're expecting to hear a diesel.
I wasn't expecting the BMW to be quicker than the Bentley

Line of Duty last night. Watched on iPlayer because we were up the pub doing the quiz. Cleverly written stuff.

24 Hours in Police Custody was fascinating last night. A surgeon was claiming a massive amount for losses from a burglary, but it doesn't seem to add up. He's such a tosser when being interviewed that you are hoping he's going to get his due from the off. If it's on 4Player (or whatever it's called), well worth a watch...

On the subject of TGT, I noticed in the title sequence a white Sierra Cosworth being drifted round a corner, yet it never featured in any of the episodes. I was looking forward to some old skool Ford action as well.

Something I had heard of but not seen until recently is on Amazon, a sci-fi called "The expanse". On some of the other fori I visit it is as much a cult as Tar trek/wars ever has been. Finding it a bit more like Babylon 5 for being fairly gritty/edgy. B5 was a while ago now.

IIRC, it was repeated from the very beginning not that long ago on one of the more obscure Freeview channels.

I enjoyed it but was amazed how his constant denial and accusations levied against the police and insurance company almost managed to get him off and that despite it being a seemingly open and shut case it took four years and two trials to secure a conviction. Stu probably shares their pain!

Even if he served only four, I suspect that would be very hard time indeed for someone like him. 'I've been incorrectly addressed.' At least if his title was wrong, grammar was redeemed by a suitable sentence!
Oh dear. How sad. Never mind.

So just watched the last Grand Tour, a funeral to the Ford family saloon. A fitting epitaph to the end of them producing shows together.

Is that confirmed as the end or is it just another hiatus?

Is that confirmed as the end or is it just another hiatus? Confirmed on screen as far as series are concerned but they have said they’ll carry on doing special shows, so I’d take that as being one off shows probably around Christmas.
