It was pretty grim - highlighted by the first one being good and free of celebrities.

2nd half mercifully better, if not to the high standard of the series opener.

Hey Franki, have you watched any of the Chris Cornell tribute concert on Youtube? Not half bad, but a lot of it shows just how godlike a voice Cornell had. Some of the choices of vocalists were painful to say the least (I'm looking at you, Perry Farrell. What on earth possessed you to attempt Cochise?), whereas I was blown away by Miley Cyrus and have to admit a grudging nod to that balloon head from Maroon 5.

Yep,seen bits of it. One of my big regrets is he did a solo acoustic tour a few years back and I dithered about going and ended up not going.

I saw him live once upon a time. Audioslave at Brixton Academy. I saw him with soundgarden in 94-95 but if you listen to any of his acoustic solo albums you will understand why I wanted to see him ‘unplugged’.

Having just changed my CD player, I can wholeheartedly recommend getting better equipment as a great way of increasing the pleasure you get from music. It's wonderful playing stuff that you've known and loved for decades and hearing things anew.

Guess what I found the other day? The copy of Doolittle you burned for me back in the early days of the Autocar forum! Had a good groove along to it on the way home from work, biit of air bass to Here Comes Your Man.

One of my favourite songs to play along to!
Mr P: A Musical Fidelity M6S.
Tray on the outgoing Arcam has started to get a little temperamental, but looking back I'd had it in use for 17 years - I don't think it owed me anything.

I think my CD player goes back to the mid nineties at least. Still working great as far as I know. I've started using the Oppo BD player since I got it, as I buy a fair amount of music on Blu-ray (wherever it's available in that format).

This inspired me to download their most recent albums via Spotify, I'm currently listening to Indie Cindy to drown out the usual Friday morning drivel being discussed in the office.

I wasn't expecting much but was pleasantly surprised. They still have their political bite, touching on the Windrush generation, scooter gangs, dodgy politicians, misogyny and mental health. Mind you there is an argument that it's as much a Fun Boy 3 album as a Specials one.

It's one of those upside down Pioneer jobbies so, in theory, the lens shouldn't get dust sitting on it. In theory!

I really like that as an album, though the less said about Head Carrier the better. There's a new one out soon, and I am not optimistic...

Had a quick flick through the first few tracks. The first two sound like the same song with different people singing.

It has words on it, though, doesn't it?
The first two tracks sound the same apart from one has singing on it and the other has someone talking over the same backing track. Better?

The last GT was great telly - the Jim Clark bit was poignant and especially well done. Hammond even managed to be amusing with the horse rant.
The Urus sounded awful - a caricatured pop-and-bang monstrosity. Coming soon to your local Premier League club car park, and in droves.
