I'd have thought that writing an autobiography of any sort could be viewed as self-indulgent! Maybe my opinion was coloured due to the fact I follow him on twitter and he has become a bit of virtue signaler.

I thought the Revenant was terrible and turned it off before it finished. I thought the way it was filmed where the camera moved around the action was interesting but the story was just too far fetched to be believable. We saw the Revenant in the cinema. I enjoyed it - as a beautifully shot film - but my goodness it was gory and extreme. I have no desire to see it again - once was enough. I do suspect that the US and Canada were brutal places in that era and that man's inhumanity to man (or woman) was pretty prevalent from all people's and types. I read How Not to be a Boy and although it was good, I did somehow expect it to be funnier than it was. He came across as very like his character in Peep Show - rather self obsessed. Life imitating art or the other way round?

Do any of our Scottish members watch Two Doors Down? Curious as to what they make of it.

I haven't seen it but read a few interviews with some of the cast. It appears to be getting a following.

Last night - new series of Bitchin Rides - shame we didn't see the end result - I've loved pretty much every car they've built and the standards they build to are stunning. I can't imagine how much money their customers spend. I'm with you on this, the standards are incredibly high and I frequently think that the produced cars are perfection. Watching a few episodes of 'Fast is the new black' really highlights how far ahead of the competition they are.

I find it quite amusing, though a couple of the characters appear to be becoming caricatures of themselves; saying that, that makes them even funnier (IMO at least!) The current series is, I think, S3, with one or maybe two stand-alones before that. It's been around longer than you'd perhaps think .. .. ..

We didn't see the pilot, but have seen all the series - I think this is No4.
It's not the most original thing on the box, but the cast is very strong and I think the writing has improved with each series.

How does it compare with Still Game (in particular the first 6 series of that!)?

Two doors down is one of those nice easy shows to watch at 10 after a gritty drama. I think it’s really well written though I agree the characters are starting to become characatures of themselves.

I caught a bit of that around Christmas time. I wasn't feeling well, but it did help a little by annoying the snot out of me. Had to turn it off after about 10 minutes. There was a party, some cringeworthy drunk acting and a Mr and Mrs type game going on. Awful!

New The Grand Tour started last Sunday. I admit I'm a sucker for a muscle car so enjoyed it. I particularly liked the Dodge Demon with its box of bits you swop over for drag racing. I also liked the hashtag they were using to promote it on Prime: #amazonshitcarshow.

Demon all the way. I've started watching a lot of drag racing recently and that puppy is built to do just that. It even uses the AC system to cool the air charge after the supercharger/intercooler for more power - that's dedication. It also helps that it looks and sounds the bollocks too. It won't belong until they're pumping out over 1000 bhp with ease.

I've only seen the trailer. About 50 times before every fucking programme I watch on Prime! Clarkson looks really fat.

He does look comical, and Hammond looks like an ageing wannabe rock star.
I really enjoyed it. Apparently there will be a fourth series, but it'll be composed of 'specials'. I'm hoping the celebrity bit has been ditched permanently - it has never worked.

I'm hoping the celebrity bit has been ditched permanently - it has never worked. It is quite shocking how they've aged - and how fat Clarkson is. They all look positively haggard - I'm hoping that it's because they are spending all their Amazon dosh on dirty women and high living but I suspect it's just the passing of Father Time. I don't think it helps them that there are so many old episodes on Dave when they were (relatively!) young whippersnappers. Quite a contrast.

Easy to forget that the relaunch on BBC2 would have been 17 years ago this year. That would have made Clarkson 40 so the decline is perhaps understandable, if still pretty extreme.

I got sent a video link the other day of a singer called LP. Freaked me out a bit. She's a she that looks like a he (a bit like a member of the Strokes or the Kooks, that kinda vibe) but sounds like Stevie Nicks after a gulp of helium. I'm not going to post that link but I'm sure you can find plenty if you like a bit of gender bendering.

Started watching the Columbian SE, I turned it off before they got Hammond's jeep out of the sea. The "bants" was excruciating.
A shame as I enjoyed the first episode of the season.
