I actually don't mind the looks (too) much, but it's not a proper Lamborghini to my way of thinking. I feel the same about the Cayenne etc, but this perturbs me more.

They're atcually not that bad up close, not compared to the other vast monstrosties available, but I get what you mean. Say Lamborghini to me and I immediately think Countach or Diablo: batshit mental wedges with pop-up headlights, scissor doors and completely useless interiors made of old Milk Tray liners, not a parts-bin VW special with angular hips.
They almost have the interior in the old skool vein - that centre console is an abomination.

Kind-of changing the subject back to the original topic, I realised in the New Year that I didn't watch the telly at all in 2018. I may have watched some stuff on i-player on the computer, and some of the Formula 1 highlights via YouTube and/or F1's own site, but I never actually sat down in front of the TV to watch anything.

Just watched last weeks GT. Stayed home from work today as we got almost a foot of snow overnight and had no power for a few hours. Wasn’t tempted to try out ECT snow mode on the RX though. (To be honest, I’ve never had to use it despite many trips to the snow. It’s a surprisingly good vehicle in slippery conditions)
That Jim Clark piece is excellent. It gets me that they will occasionally do an article like it and it’ll be really good, and then they’ll spend the next episode playing draughts with caravans.

Another reasonable one with the China-themed episode. That Honki (or whatever) was just bizarre...

Thought Top Gear was fantastic last night. Is it weird I want a Panda 4x4 in my life.

The gt China episode ,those roads were gobsmacking. I used to spend maybe 2-3 months in a year there on business ,they could literally throw up a motorway in a few months ,in the U.K. it would take several years to build a few miles,

That's what happens when you don't have to care about a planning process/Nimbyism etc

Channel 4 Dispatches program on Grenfell tower. No easier to watch this time around but information that lessons have not been learned does nothing to help. Are we really this stupid?

I had the distinct impression they were in Englandsire somewhere; annoyingly, the Top Gear website didn't say where it was.

Ahh. That isn't all that far from where our caravan is situated; might see how easily walkable (for a late-middle-aged fat bastard) it is when we're up next.

I actually turned Top Gear off part way through the last section of the fast estates bit. Which is weird, because I love fast estates, but neither of them did anything for me.
Also, Chris Harris still annoys the living shit out of me.

Also, Chris Harris still annoys the living shit out of me. After Ep.1, I was in two minds whether to watch this week's. I did, but last night not Sunday, and Ep.3 remain questionable. Harris is starting to really annoy me too.

When he is in a car reviewing it he is very good ,unfortunately that’s where it ends . The fake banter and other stuff is not his forte.

Thanks Simon for the answer and Chocy/Boxer6 for your suggestions - I thought it looked like North Yorkshire but good to know and the GT Scottish road trip looked like one to add to the bucket list

We recorded it and only got around to watching it last night - fascinating stuff. I thought Claire came across well, but they are a dysfunctional family, aren't they? He's an easier man to admire than like, and my overwhelming feeling was that he's actually more crippled emotionally than he is physically. Very sad story, in personal terms.

I caught a programme called Modern Wheels or Classic Steals on the Dave channel last night.
The premise is that some random member of the public has an amount of money to spend on a car and the 2 presenters each propose 2 options. The bloke, a car collecting rasta type guy, puts forward 2 'classics' and the bint, called Rebecca and always wearing a dress despite a shot of her in a race suit in the titles, puts forward 2 modern cars.
Anyway, if you see it in the schedules just skip on by, it's shite.

Some poor young girl had saved up her pennies and wanted to treat herself to something sporty and he was trying to convince her a gold TVR was the way to go. Said bint was pointing her in the direction of a M135i. I turned off at that point.
