Ye gads!
Is that a joke? Must be. That’s ludicrously bad.

Well, pretty much ANY of the current BMW range. Dropped into our local dealer on Saturday afternoon for a casual look (at Mrs Tims suggestion!). Its the first time I've looked particularly closely at the majority of the current range and it was generally an unpleasant experience. To top it all we got ignored in the compound, outside the front of the showroom AND in the showroom itself There was an M3 estate in the showroom with the 'crotch pocket' seats. They're a complete danger for someone of my height getting in, I don't know how the rest of you who might've tried got on but I know I'd get injured at some point! So, any replacement for the current 4 series is going to have to be an F3X series car or a pre-facelift current 5 series.

Those carbon bucket seats in the M3 and M4 are very comfortable once you are in but if the car was going to be used as a daily, I would have to spec the normal seats. The buckets are a total pain to get in and out of. As a track car I see the sense but I don't see the sense in buying an M3 or M4 as a track car, as good as they are!

Agreed, a very comfortable place to sit while you recover from the literal ball ache of getting into them.
They had a used M3 Competition parked out front that had normal seats but I didn't try those.

The GT3RS I drove at Knockhill had very similar high sided carbon buckets (albeit without the man mound) and they were fantastic......until I tried to get out!

I visited one of my sites at the end of last week and they wanted to take me to see another location about 15mins away, so we jumped in the site vehicle. They usually have a Ford Ranger but that’s been off the road for a long time waiting for parts, so the lease company has given them a 22 plate Toyota Hilux double cab. It’s a good spec, an Invincible X with JBL speakers, sat nav, c,I ate control, leather seats (I think!), running boards and lots of plastic cladding.
It had a decent amount of space inside, obviously very practical and it was quieter than I expected although I don’t think we went over 50mph. But the ride….I’d had enough after 5mins of bouncing and swaying along the road, but apparently it wasn’t broken as I was told it’s the best work truck they’ve ever had. It reminded me of a MK1 Discovery, the only car I’ve felt carsick when driving.
Just had a look on Autotrader and a 2022 model would set you back £40k. Wow.

Those things tend to ride better with some load on-board.

Don't ever sit in the back of a twin cab, the ride is truly awful and like you made me ill within 5 miles.

They're all like that, Sir. Pickups have gone silly money.
I do like mine, but it suits a purpose and having the Range Rover as the proper car is much better than just having the pickup.

In 2014 the garage I worked at were selling brand new L200s for comfortably less than £20k.

I paid £21k for mine no VAT at 2 years old. I think Mitsubishi dealers were trying to get rid of stock at the time and it was COVID, so deals were to be had.

Yes, it's silly. A friend of mine leases his 23 plate at a staggering £700 per month for an Invincible X with full maintenance at 20k p.a
The bounce back loan on mine is £350 a month and I don't spend another £350 maintaining it, that's for sure.
