Hi. Welcome onboard.
The Fiesta is a good call. Good to drive, but still reasonably well mannered on the motorway for that occasional trip. Parts are relatively cheap and plentiful.

The first one doesn't have the HK stereo upgrade. For that alone it would be worth making the journey down for the grey one. Enjoy the drive back listening to your favourite tunes.

Harder to see on the one photographed outdoors, but the indoor one looks mint. The outdoor one needs the discs scrubbed off properly......... Also the (diminutive) size of the brakes gives a good indication of the performance levels, these are definitely a "try it and see if its quick enough" car...
The discs are slightly bigger than my MK7 Fiesta ST's, and I had no issues with the way that went and stopped. Itching to drive one but time and local availability have been an issue. My nearest dealer does now have a mint 2015 car though...
Obvious plan taking shape...

Yesterday, on the A84 near Callander, a Rolls-Royce Ghost and then soon after, a Phantom. With John's friend above, Scotland must be where all the money is.

I've only ever sailed into Plockton and then rowed ashore for some bread and milk. It does have a certain "non Scottish" feel about it with Tropical plants which survive because of the Gulf Stream. It's a very pretty village. I understand it is a very pretty village, but we shall be out and about most days to see some more 'normal ' Scottish scenery. In particular, I am very much looking forward to the boat trip from Elgol to Loch Coruisk.

This is a very useful thread, since we shall soon be heading up to Plockton. The Cattle Pass, Mam Ratagan and Glen Garry are all possible excursions while we are there.

Good pics James. Was it as busy as normal ? I know there's been issues with how many people were being let in for events at Prescott Prescott only very recently relaxed the numbers rules, so there was no limit, but numbers were maybe a little down on usual. Officially, masks had to be worn in the Clubhouse and paddock, but absolutely no one bothered, not even the staff.

1,800 miles? New clutch required? I just look at that and think what was the point? It's spent its entire life as the 3D representation of a teenage boy's bedroom poster. I am inclined to agree, but each to his own. Many would consider me odd for spending my weekend watching ancient, oily old bangers race up a hill.

Just caught up with this. Some great, if rather moist cars. Thanks for posting.
The green 3-litre Bentley just after the Lotus Carlton belongs to someone I know in Chipping Norton. He had been thinking about dropping a 4.5 litre engine into it, but has decided to keep it original.

I arrived at 8:30 to see that The Orchard was already filling up A mixed weather forecast and maybe a lingering whiff of Covid restrictions kept a few away, but attendance was still good. There was soon plenty to see in the spectators' pre-war car park, as well as the paddock: Alfa Romeo Always a delight. These cars are a work of art even when standing still Alvis Unsurprisingly, there were plenty here, large and small Amilcar Bentley Charles was there with his stunning 6.5 litre landaulette, dwarfing an Austin 7 alongside Daimler A very important and famous 1907 Daimler45 10.6-Litre four seat tourer. Originally belonging to the Earl of Craven, it spent many years in the hand of George Daniels, the famous watchmaker. This four cylinder, chain drive behemoth could reach 80 MPH, at 1,200 RPM. The single lever control on the five spoke steering column opens the throttle, weakens the mixture and advances the ignition with one movement – a Daimler feature which worked well when meticulously set up and all the brightwork is finished in copper The car is featured in this short video: ERA Frazer Nash No VSCC meet is complete without a number of these (spot the Aston Martin lurking among them) Lagonda I don't think I have ever seen so many together before Mercedes This 1903 Mercedes 60 HP is a well-known car in the club. Competing in the Edwardian class and driven by Roger Collings (the driver in the Daimler video above) the combined age of car and driver was over 200 years. Age is no barrier to competition the VSCC! Riley A good turnout of these, including a blue 14/6 Alpine fabric saloon which I had considered when making my latest purchase Rolls-Royce Somebody parked a special, based in an Austin 7 chassis, next to a Phantom II. David & Goliath Someone who lives near to me brought his Phantom I. Minus bodywork and only with a rudimentary exhaust it neither looks nor sounds like any other Royce, but nobody minds one bit. Amazingly, he has never been pulled over by the police. Salmson Sunbeam Vauxhall Edwardians and Sports Specials I really like these. Some are famous cars which have been competing at Prescott and Shelsley Walsh since the 1930s. The Edwardians feature a monstrous engine, often of eight or nine litres or more, while the specials are lightweight cars, with v twin or pairs of v twin engines. All have plenty to keep manufacturers of chain drive components in profitable business. 'Hicky' Hickling's 1911 10-litre Pope-Toledo Gordon Bennett has an early OHC engine This is raw, oil and petrol-scented racing at its purest and back-to-basics best Of course, the main joy of this event is to be gained from the fact that it is not a static show and these ancient machines are prepared and raced against the clock in serious competition. Occasionally it can go wrong. Fortunately the driver escaped unscathed, but he will be busy in his workshop for quite some time ahead Back down the hill... My next door neighbour's Morgan, next to a rare Panther J72 and a Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud III Something a bit more modern ... although I would rather have the red one All in all, a superb day out, with the extra thick layer of icing on the cake being able to drive there and back in a proper vintage sports car.

Having had both styles of modern Clubman, the current shape model is a far more refined mile muncher.

Please, please, please let this not be the forerunner of a Morgan SUV.

This is a big conversation in vintage and classic circles. Super does contain less ethanol, so definitely go down that route. I also use an additive, Millers VSPe which provides additional protection. One of the best things you can do is to avoid having fuel lay in the tank unused for a long time. It is over extended time that the ethanol absorbs water and that is what causes the damage.

The view from the restaurant this evening. Shockingly bad in real life, but I didn’t let it put me off my food It was interesting watching the coming and going of vehicles in the High Street. Three Range Rover Sports, one RR Autobiography, a Bentley Bentayga, a BMW X7, an Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio and two Jaguar F-Paces. Clearly upmarket SUVs are popular around here.

The owner rebuilt the Bentley over 15+ years. He bought it as a project, with the wrong body on it and rebuilt it to the original design. The only reference he had was an old black and white photo of the car. Using the wheels as a known size for reference, he took scaled measurements from the photo to make drawings for the body and went from there. Every single part of the body on the car he has made himself, from scratch, to concours condition. It is utterly breathtaking.

Excellent and the car is looking fabulous.
Being rather odd, I would definitely tick the wood box if ordering one of these. I was very pleased to find a Benz with proper wood.

Nice enough, but I would much rather have a DB5, or even a '70s V8 Vantage.

An EV is a no brainer as a company car. For the current tax year it will cost you the tax on 1% of the list price as a benefit in kind. Next year it is 2% and probably 3% the year after. As a 40% taxpayer, a Tesla 3 with a list price of £60,000 would cost you £240 for the full year 2021/22 and £480 for 2022/23. You would pay more for a bike! My A4 2.0 TDI was costing me around £350 per month!
