Is it an option to have the bonnet 3 pointed star these days? I'd imagine pedestrian protection regs put paid to them. I know RR have the Spirit of Ecstacy still but that's retractable so probably goes down in the event of a crash - much to the horror of owners who must be aghast at such protection being afforded to the peasants they've just run over. The star is now a relatively lightweigt affair compared to the gunsight of old and it easily folds back on impact. I wouldn't be without one on a Benz. It is a simple two minute job to pop out the circular bonnet badge and replace with a star, as I did with mine.

An interesting and varied range of options. Being someone who likes to have a third, weekend, car in the fleet I would reccomend that option.
From experience, because the weekend car is very much a heart rather than head decision, it will need to be absolutely right. Since getting the Alvis I no longer have a real world shopping/wishlist on the various classic car sites. If it means a slight compromise on one of the daily motorway bashers to achieve that, then so be it.
I would be setting up the Golf replacement to put yourself in the best position to add a Porsche/ Ferrari/ Aston Martin to the fleet.

Tomorrow will be exactly 97 years since the date the Alvis was first registered. To celebrate, I treated it to some clutch fettling last week. It has also been to Red Triangle for a thorough service, check and MOT. Although not needed, I think it is a wise precaution to let the professionals look at it from time to time. url=https://ibb.co/wYWzgF4] [/url] [

There is a lot I like about it, but it does need a windscreen.

Looks much like a Michelin A/S tyre than the Verdes. I agree. They look very much like my CC2s. Not a bed thing if they perform anything like them.

I am not generally a fan of the current Benz range, but I could get used to having that on the drive.
Not going to happen, though. The current Benz only has 58,000 on the clock and has many more years left in it yet.
Nice colour onthe example above. I would need proper wood inside and I don't know if that is still available.

I visited one of my sites at the end of last week and they wanted to take me to see another location about 15mins away, so we jumped in the site vehicle. They usually have a Ford Ranger but that’s been off the road for a long time waiting for parts, so the lease company has given them a 22 plate Toyota Hilux double cab. It’s a good spec, an Invincible X with JBL speakers, sat nav, c,I ate control, leather seats (I think!), running boards and lots of plastic cladding. It had a decent amount of space inside, obviously very practical and it was quieter than I expected although I don’t think we went over 50mph. But the ride….I’d had enough after 5mins of bouncing and swaying along the road, but apparently it wasn’t broken as I was told it’s the best work truck they’ve ever had. It reminded me of a MK1 Discovery, the only car I’ve felt carsick when driving. Just had a look on Autotrader and a 2022 model would set you back £40k. Wow. Was there anything in the back? Those things tend to ride better with some load on-board.

It being a nice morning, I decided to take the Alvis to meet some friends for breakfast at the Hook Norton Brewery. I was joined by a 1924 Alvis 12-50 tourer and a 1925 Sunbeam 16.9 drophead coupe. The owner of the brewery has a 1930s Alvis, so anyone who arrives in a proper car is allowed to park infront of the main buildings. We set the world to rights over a very nice full English and then went to see the horses which they still use to pull the dray on deliveries to local pubs. All in all, a very pleasant morning. .

It looks like I did the same as others. Entered the name of another model by the same manufacturer and then no clue until the reveal at the end. I have only ever associated that name with another, earlier model.

I think that must be a misprint, but good to see someone is getting some value out of it. It is a similar story with my old Skoda Superb estate, which clocked up intergalactic mileage in the first few years after it was sold off from our company fleet. I assume it had a new life as an airport taxi. The annual rate of increase has reduced a little, but still going strong

Sounds similar to my Superb experience from way back whenever. As a head, rather than heart choice, it is difficult to make an argument for anything else. Other than the seats, which had me regularly calling upon the services of my chiropractor.

Other than the grill I quite like that. I enjoyed driving the Tonale we hired in Italy last year and not being a fan of the latest models from MINI I could be tempted.

I wonder what scope there is in the aftermarket world for someone with half a brain and a laptop to bypass the enabling software block?
