That looks like snowman building and staying at home weather. Don't know how you deal with the boys going home though!

Another nice day today but it was -7.5 at the house and -6 at the office. Brrrr! I get a lie-in on a Sunday, but Herself's Td5 was reading -5C with her friends' Astra reading -7C this morning. No snow here either, but the pavements and some roads are quite slippy. Just been watching a neighbour trying to get up our road in his Golf. He’s made us about 20% of the way (many tines....), all he’s doing is making it harder for anyone else to go and risking hitting something! The only vehicle to make it so far is an Evoque. i think I’ll pull up a chair and get some popcorn....Q7 just clouted the kerb going too fast downhill, A4 Quattro made it after deciding to go slow following 2 failed attempts.... If you try and fail twice, what's the point? I've never seen anyone succeed once that point has been reached usually, as you ays, becuse the road has been "polished" by that time!

Looks very slushy here, especially foot paths went I put bird food out today. Vanishing pretty quickly so a second trip may be required.

That looks like snowman building and staying at home weather. Don't know how you deal with the boys going home though! I think the best plan is to take them back tomorrow, I don’t fancy a 6-7 hour return journey which is what Google maps is suggesting at the moment. Just been out and the winter tyres are phenomenal. I decided on eco pro mode to soften the throttle and just drove straight up the hill, didn’t get any slip or TC at all! It’s compacted snow at the top where people have been struggling, but that wasn’t an issue either. Same coming back down the hill, it just stopped, no ABS or slip at all. I’ve caused quite the stir amongst the neighbours..... I was warned not to go out by a guy in an A6 Allroad when I was clearing the car off, he’d turned back as he’d been struggling. Lots of idiots out there, which is the biggest problem. SUVs going too quickly, people using way to much throttle and adding more when they’re stuck. A 3 Series X Drive couldn’t stop at a T Junction and came sliding out towards me. I avoided him, didn’t get any sort of apology, then he was spinning up the wheels (take a little while for the fronts to kick in) and following me too closely. Despite te all that, I really enjoyed it and am tempted to take the Boxster out for some fun, but I’m concerned about the idiots so probably won’t.

Deep and crisp and even here right now and snowing heavily. Even with the winter tyres on the Benz I don't think I am going anywhere today. Same here. Supposed to be taking the kids back to Swindon this afternoon, just looked at the traffic and it looks like chaos all the way already. Will see how it looks later and decide then. It would be much better if more people who insist on going out had the right tyres for winter..... FYP! I reckon most of the people we saw out were going to do Christmas shopping.

No snow here in Newcastle, it's bright, clear day - cold but with blue skies. Played golf yesterday, which was hilarious as shots pitched onto frozen greens rebounded 20ft into the air, then 15 ft, before disappearing off the back. The good news is the ice cream van has just turned up.

Zilch, nothing, nowt, square root of fuck all in Rugby today despite forecasters predicting 2-5cm. Seems according to my weather radar that the snow showers missed up by just a few miles. We rarely get snow in Rugby, the last time we got a good fall was 2013. Rugby is low lying. We are due some on Sunday though There was me saying that we haven't had a decent fall for 4 years and blimey we've had a good dumping overnight and it hasn't stopped snowing all day here. We have a good 4-5 inches of lying snow, perfect for snowball fights and Snowman making. Looks beautiful until some dick drives up the road and puts tyre tracks in fresh snow.

I minute amount of sleet for us this afternoon, rain this morning but generally damp and misty all day and hovering around 2-3 degrees c.
I wish it would snow heavily as I love it but it rarely does, I think 2010 was the last decent snow for us.

Pretty constant all day here but not exactly heavy. It will take a while to clear in the morning so more roads closed by people unable to observe a little less heavy right foot and making first contact. Or even second and third contact.

We woke up to a light dusting of settled snow in Fulham yesterday morning - probably about a centimetre's worth or so. It then snowed wetly on and off all day, before petering out and melting away overnight.
It is currently once more snowing wetly outside my office window here in the City and perishingly cold.

We have a Potugese frined who, having lived here for over a decade, is now returning home. He leaves Perth today and is driving to Portsmouth/Plymouth to get the ferry to Santander.
He reckons he'll be ok because he has a Nissan Navara on proper tyres (he was offroading in the snow at Glenshee a couple of weeks ago) but I fear his issue may be other muppets causing road closures and delays.
Well, that and the fact his Navara is 13 years old, has 200k on the clock and is something of a heap........

A light covering of snow on the western side of Basingstoke when I went to work this morning, and rain for almost all the day which eventually melted the snow by early afternoon. It had stopped by the time I left work to return home but the cars were beginning to freeze over and it was bitterly cold.
I derived a little satisfaction by trying out the electric bum warmer in the Kuga as well as the heated front screen; nice

I derived a little satisfaction by trying out the electric bum warmer in the Kuga as well as the heated front screen; nice I use my heated seat all the time in these sort of temperatures. I'm not sure if in the usual course of events I'd swap that for a heated screen; in this weather I'd be sorely tempted, as the heating element at the bottom of the screen doesn't really cut it in "proper" cold.

My heated seats go on a hell of a lot - it doesn’t need to be so very cold. I’ve got the electric screen and it is simply brilliant

Could have done with one this morning - had to run an errand in the 500 at 7.45am this morning and it was frozen near solid. Managed to get it usable using de-icer spray but it took several minutes of driving before the de-mist really starting working. To be fair, it is a very tiny engine.

It was -8 when I left home this morning, but well worth the effort. the A44 between Moreton-in-Marsh and Broadway was a winter wonderland of white trees against a pure blue sky background. Main roads are fine. Country lanes are lethal.

It was -6 this morning, but clearing the screen/windows was much easier than I expected thankfully. Lots of ice and frozen snow on the way to the main road, but no problems at all and the main roads were fine. The car park at work is pretty treacherous, so I parked well out of the way in a section that hasn’t been driven on. When I parked up I did think that maybe i’d been a bit over confident, but I tried backing up and it was fine.
