When the garage is finished I could provide a handy for the Peaks out of London (wife's) place for all your future classics..... wouldn't even charge that much to exercise them😆😆😆
Sure Stu or Andy could give me a hand if required!!!

TVR is going to HHC tomorrow for appraisal.
I haven't had any serious interest from a private sale and it really needs to go.

Will they buy it or sell it on your behalf for a fee?

Probably on sale or return, but Tony did mention buying outright. If the outright sale price is only £2k or so different from what I will get SOR then I may be tempted.

We sold the Boxster through SOR with the local specialist, as I couldn’t face selling it privately. They charged £1800 (6%) but I doubt I would have cleared much more by selling it privately as they’ve got a really good reputation.
Good luck with the appraisal, they should appreciate the work that’s gone into it.

Had to look up HHC - www.hhcsportscars.co.uk/... Nice stock list! Have always fancied a Suffolk SS100 - the SS100 being one of my favourite 1930s cars. I think SoR works really well for performance/specialist cars, provided you aren't in a rush for the money. One additional benefit is that as soon as you hand it over to the specialist, tax and insurance ceases to be your problem. I sold the M135i (via Jason Barker) and the M5 (via Munich Legends) on SoR and in both cases it worked well. JB charged £1k in 2017, plus about £200 for polishing/prepping. ML charged £1.5k back in 2012, plus some additional prepping. In each case, it took about 3 months. In the case of the M135i, it made a big difference too. Through JB I got nearly £3k more (net) than I was offered in part-ex. I had also had zero luck trying to sell it privately - just not even any enquiries.

I've actually sold it to them. Probably £2-3 less than SOR, but in the context of things I would rather take the money.

Just worked out the rough costs including the hit on the sale price, and it has cost £2500 each year to run or 60ppm. Not bad, really.

In this climate probably best to take the cash.
That's less than I'd have guessed for the annual costs, especially with the chassis and engine rebuilds. How long did you have the car - the years fade into one another.

Was it not HHC who sold you the TVR with a corroded chassis?

I had it for two years before the corrosion was discovered.

Sorry to hear it has gone but glad that the car can go on to be used and enjoyed by someone else and you can follow your current passions with the Landies....God knows what engine it will end up with now you have £10k to play with 😄

I transferred the car as an asset to my company before 5th April to reduce my dividend and therefore my tax liability, so I get nothing!
