I saw my first Taycan on the road at speed yesterday evening when a Gentian blue Turbo joined the dual carriageway from the Silverstone junction just in front of me. I'm a big fan anyway, but it looked even better (and bigger) on the road and looked to ride very well as it it appeared to be floating along the road (no vertical body movement). Saw my first one on the road the other day as well in the same colour. Looked very nice indeed

1966 Nissan President in black. I'd never seen one before but it did have a certain stately charm about it.

This 1938 Lanchester parked at Drimmie Woods (near Blairgowrie) yesterday. Lovely old thing.

I passed a Mercedes AMG GT R which appeared to be driven by Chris Harris but I cant be 100% certain on that.

I was passed by a Lamborghini Urus last night who wanted to show me how fast his car was. I didn't bite (it was a 40mph limit). However what struck me most was how anonymous the Urus is in grey metallic. I am sure that most people wouldn't even have registered it was anything special because the colour just made all the lines, angles and shapes disappear. The only other one I have seen was in a bright blue metallic and you saw that coming from miles away with lots of wow factor. I can kind of understand why some people might be tempted to buy the yellow one.

I saw my first 2 GC yesterday, a 218i Sport. What a terrible looking thing.... how have they made 17" wheels look so small and why is it riding so high?

Strangely, to me, my daughter thinks the back of the 2GC looks OK but she hates the front. I on the other hand think the backs is awful and I could maybe live with the front if it had lots of other redeeming factors. From the side though it is truly atrocious with every dimension wrong - that vast slab above the rear wheels makes the wheels look tiny and the car as if it is on stilts. The bottom line is that almost no-one likes the whole car and I doubt it will have a long or successful life. The driver of that 218i probably picked it from the company car list without knowing what it would look like. I bet he/she wishes now that they had done a bit of research.

There is nothing about the way it looks to say it's a BMW. It reminds me of those weird saloon versions of hatchbacks that were never meant to look that way that are sold in some markets - I suppose that's exactly what it is.

I passed a 2005 vintage Megane saloon this morning and it looked similar / similarly bad.

I was thinking the real obscure tat sold in developing world markets like the Yaris saloon.

It's deeply unpleasant.
I saw an AMG A35 saloon from the back at lunchtime and apart from it being in a lovely shade of blue I think if you took the Merc/AMG badges off nobody would have a clue what it was from that angle. If anything I thought there was quite a strong hint of Infiniti about it, possibly due to the shape of the lights.

Passengering on the way to the Bay Area this morning, we were doing 80 in the outside lane and had moved there to overtake a truck that was doing about 60. From nowhere, an E46 M3 undertook us and swapped into the overtaking lane to go past the truck. It was easily doing 3 figures.
Saw a lot of M cars this morning but the most interesting spot was a Toyota Supra in mustard yellow. A colour that really accentuates it’s blobfish nose.

Saw a new Golf right afterwards. Only from the rear fortunately.

Saw a BMW I8 yesterday along with 2 Dodge Hellcats. Both were rumbling and heavily modified.
The I8 is a car I don’t think I’ve seen in California before, because the only places I remember seeing them were in Canada and Ireland.

I've seen a lot more I8s round here than I have of Ferraris, Lambos or even Audi R8s.

Drove behind a new X7 M50i, probably the better view to be honest. Can’t believe that car can do 0-60 in a shade over 4 seconds. The X5M will apparently do it in under 4. That’s supercar levels of performance.

Spent the weekend in Turin and managed to spot not one but two new Fiat 500s, one of which was a convertible.
I don't like the new 500 badge.
Also saw a lightly camouflaged Ghibli on XP plates. Guessing from the four vast pipes at the back that it was a prototype of the new 500bhp version.

Two days in a row now, I have passed a guy in a Reliant Scimitar Sabre which looks all fresh and shiny. It's not really the kind of car I would want to spend 00's of hours restoring!

I passed an immaculate Peugeot 309GTI Goodwood yesterday. It was either fully restored or had done zero miles and been hidden away from new.

Actually it looks as though I happened across this press event: www.autocar.co.uk/car-review/fiat/500-electric/first-drives/fiat-500-2021-reviewThe cars that passed us were wearing those odd roundels and the date matches.

Saw an ID3 in the big VW "showcase" place in Berlin earlier today when passing on the bus. I'm sorely tempted to go back and enter the building (it looked like it is open to the public) and have a test sit etc

Tesla’s. They are as common as any brand here, but the two I saw today, on the same journey, both had massive go faster stripes, like you’d find on a Ford GT.
Tesla’s have hit the chav class.
