It's not dazzled as such but the lights are definitely too bright to be comfortable. It's always on full-size SUVs too. I hate to tell you Tim but finding the lights too bright comes with age. I have been noticing it for a few years now but I don't think the LED street lighting helps at all - we have a few roads that still have the yellow lamps and they are much easier to drive down even with bright SUV oncoming headlights.

I've noticed that policemen are very young nowadays too.....

If they had voodoo lights and had the auto functionality switched on, you wouldn’t be getting dazzled. It's not dazzled as such but the lights are definitely too bright to be comfortable. It's always on full-size SUVs too. Yes and I know what you mean, but my point was that if you were in a dark box, then it doesn’t really matter how bright the lights are.

Mk1 MX5 that looked a bit rough, but had one modification that I actually thought wasn’t atrocious. The pop up headlights were open about an inch, and had 2 rows of leds in them, which were on in normal driving.
I’ve seen many worse modifications so this wasn’t too bad...

Yesterday in the town centre just after 9:30am... not sure what was supposed to have happened, something to do with the launch of this year's Poppy Fund appeal but the outdoor activities were cancelled due to the bad weather. The lone security official did not know if it was a Triumph event or not...... TR7, Stag and TR8

Yesterday, in Germany, the farm runabout. Ideal for the job That looks like a very posh farm! It is very posh. No less than the Witte family dairy farm near Bad Laer, a very well known and respected farm in the area.1,200 cows plus a biogas unit. I took a group of UK farmers out for a visit to here, another farm and a tour of our factory.

I heard then saw a new Mustang as I was walking out of work last night, what a glorious sound. Sadly the tool behind the wheel then deemed that the queue for the lights was the right place for a short burnout which left me concerned that my desire to own a Mustang might leave me in an ownership category of idiots.
Talking of which I also saw a lowered, current shape Range Rover Spurt that also had the dubious feature of wider tracks within the standard body - it reminded me of those Cortinas you saw 30 years ago where someone had shoved a set of wheel spacers on. Why the fuck would you choose to do that to a high(ish) rise, heavy SUV?
At the weekend I saw a restored Ford Sierra that had been lowered to the floor and had tyres stretched across the alloys.

I followed a Volvo XC90 along the right lane of a dual carriageway last night and it clearly had some sort of OTT adaptive lights. When it approached a car in the slow lane and got to within about 15 feet I noticed the light beam coverage to the left partially switched off and then when it was a few feet past the slower car (and, of course the Volvo failed to pull over!) the left lane was re-illuminated. This happened a few times before they finally pulled over. I realise modern LED headlights can perform all sorts of exotic tricks but it strikes me as another one of these things that require extensive technology, add potential unreliability and cost a fortune to fix if the car is in a crash and add very little. Added to that it may be distracting for the lights to go on and off in your peripheral vision. I've still not had the chance to follow a car with adaptive LED lighting. It would be fascinating. Finally! Last night, coming home from work. Followed a 5 Series and the lights were doing impressive things. Can't believe it's taken this long to actually see one in action!

One of those 2-door coupe Rolls Royce cars, parked at the side of the road with the driver inside... on my walk back to the hotel from the skytrain station in Vancouver this evening. It was white, and he Spirit of Ecstasy looked frost-covered, as if it had been given some weird treatment

A Renault Twizy. The first I have ever seen on the road. It looked tiny, rather vulnerable.

I think it looks great fun but I would treat it as more of a 4 wheel motorbike than a car. There certainly isn't much in the way of crash protection.

Even the doors and glass (Which does not weather proof the thing were/are optional extra's) The sort of thing a tourist area might use. NOT the sort of thing the average commuter could find a purpose for.

A RR Cullinan broken down on the side of the M25, which was about to be loaded onto a covered recovery truck.

The new guy at work. He’s 25 and is looking to change his Mini Cooper for a Civic Type R. He was looking at cars for the same price- $40,000 in California. There was a 2007 V8 Vantage for sale with 13000 miles on the clock.
I’d be a lot more interested in it than the Civic...

My friend who lives in Walnut Creek got rid of his S6 for some emission reason.

They have a Smog year every 2 years that cars have to pass. I’d happily drive a V8 if it wasn’t for the stupid fuel prices. I’m in Hew Hampshire this week and petrol is $2.50 a gallon. In California, it’s over $4.00 and the governor doesn’t know why it’s so expensive...

US gallons are smaller so closer to £3.80 and I’m paying over £6.00 (£1.35/litre) for decent petrol, so it’s definitely a bargain.

Perspective needed I agree! It used to be about half the price of the UK when I got here first and has been even cheaper at times.

As my mate said when he moved to Indianapolis about 10 years ago, "Petrol is the price of piss so I might as well get a V8." Wise words, indeed.

I saw an Audi R8 in a sort of peachy orange. Nice enough car but based on the colour I assume the owner really wanted a Lamborghini but couldn't stretch that far.

Just nipped out to get a sandwich and round the corner from my work spotted a lovely Marina Bay blue M5 on a 68 plate. Sadly I was in the bakers when it left but I still heard a discreet rumble.
