It's been SAAB 900 week up here. I mean the proper 900s, not the Vauxhall Vectra based ones.
EDIT I saw a 67 plate Scirocco this morning too!

Saw a Nissan GTR, well, I heard it first. Also saw a Kia that had a Type R badge, A number of GTR badges and a Nismo badge on it.
Nearly fooled me!

I passed a Vauxhall Monaro earlier with Prius and Hybrid Synergy Drive badges on the back. Had to chuckle at that.

A dark grey 720S, first one I’ve seen up close, it looks great / so much better than in pictures.

A metallic grey Saphirre Cosworth last week. Mrs 12th wasn't keen on the big, shiny zorts, and it looked lowered, but bodywork was imacculate.

On Sunday, a orange McLaren 570 - first time I've ever seen one on the road.

We know money can’t buy taste..... Quite a few interesting cars around the hotel. A couple of examples.

A Vauxhall Calibra... did not look out of place against more modern vehicles on the road

I saw a brand new red Civic Type R this morning. Very garish but it actually put a smile on my face. If it was a black one I reckon it'd look like a film prop, maybe the batmobile.
It's certainly a change from the 'stealth at all costs' approach of the German owned brands.

In the car park across from my work this morning there was a Merc A45AMG parked next to a Focus RS.
Who would've thought 20 years ago that choosing a fast Ford would be the tasteful option compared to a Mercedes!

An RS7 parked next to a rather old, but beautifully maintained, C36AMG.
Must confess to not consciously being aware of such a thing as an RS7, never mind ever having seen one. Ho hum.

Black Focus RS which was preceded by a red Focus ST. I’ve noticed a ton of ST’s over the past few weeks. White ones are especially popular here...

Saw an E-Pace for the first time today. What a humdrum looking vehicle. Reminded of an original Qashqai and made the Q5 following it look positively interesting.

After the RS7 the other day, a mere S7 this morning.
Of more interest was the mint (albeit pretty manky) Integra Type 'R'; no huge wheels, wide tyres or stupid exhaust in sight! Wheel-wise, in fact, it looked positively under-tyred by modern standards.

A transporter yesterday, carrying a 911, a couple of Astons, a 12C, an Aventador and a 458. There was more, but I didn't have time to register the rest...

I caught up with a Skoda Kodiak the other day but until I actually read the name of both manufacturer and model I thought it was a Vauxhall Mokka Grandland or whatever its called. I'd identified it as something new but its really indistinguishable from a lot of others of its ilk.
In addition the Skoda roundel looks VERY similar to the Vauxhall one until you're extremely close.

About 18 months ago. I don't mean that I'd have to stand behind the car to tell the difference, just that as you're catching up they're not clearly distinctive.
The Skoda and Vauxhall roundels are both a chrome symbol on a black background.

In San Jose, just been driven around in the back of a Model S. Very quiet and powerful. Also saw an E63AMG in a multi story and then in the space above it, an E36 M3.

New Subaru STI which was being driven a bit aggressively, possibly because I read the traffic lights better than he did and drove through the empty cross roads as they turned green. He left the next set more quickly than I did and pulled in to my lane. Stopped at the next set of red lights and took off, changing lanes again.
I then realised he wasn’t racing me, but the grey Focus RS that was behind me. They seem to be breeding here...
I also saw a lot of last model BMW 335D’s yesterday. Surprised at how many I saw- they really like them in the Bay Area.

Saw the new Mercedes CLS a few days ago. What a disappointment. The CLS was introduced with the aim of being a more stylish four-dour offering, compared to the conventional saloon. I'm not seeing much style with the current one. Its almost as if Merc have deliberately made it look a bit crap, because of the new AMG GT Four Door. This segment used to have excellent-looking cars; the old CLS, the 6 CG and the old A7 (which looked better to my eyes). The CLS looks duff, the 6 GT looks terrible, and the new A7 does not look as nice as the original.
Perhaps BMW are doing something similar with the 6 GT, because the 8 CG concept looks about a million times better. Of course, I understand that the 6 CG was not exactly a big-seller, but neither was the old 5 GT. So continuing with this curious-looking car is puzzling. For China I can understand, but elsewhere.....?

VX220 yesterday, and a very nicely maintained/restored TR6 today. TR sounded lovely too, and it was parked less than 20 feet from me - would have taken a pic or two but the driver stayed in the car.

I saw an absolutely immaculate Ford Orion - a post facelift when the squared off the styling version. I'm sure it even had the standard plastic wheeltrims on it too.
Also spotted a Lexus RC-F, the V8 coupe.

An orange Lamborghini huracan performante on the m6 toll northbound. Not a fan of the huracan ,much prefer the shape of the gallardo but I must say this one was stunning, and the bmw vibrated when it went past .
