MOT day tomorrow, so fingers crossed.
Not much of an update, other than the brakes have always been rubbish and were decidedly marginal on the last MOT.
I changed the seized rear calipers and brackets and replaced discs and pads all round earlier in the year. I put the initial weakness down to bedding in, but there has been no improvement. The pedal was quite hard to press for not a lot of braking effort.
I was contemplating whether the master cylinder, servo or notoriously temperamental ABS unit could be at fault, but decided to change front calipers and brackets as it felt like it was braking more from the rear.
Problem now sorted. The pistons in the calipers must have been jamming and not allowing enough braking effort on the front.
Hopefully that will keep my MOT man happy.

My MOT man likes Haribo.
I usually give him 2 family sized packs when I drop something off.

Bloody Land Rovers. PAS leak has intensified as has coolant leak. I've narrowed it down to PAS pipes and I reckon they've rubbed the radiator. I'm going green laning this week. Hope I can get it sorted.

Found the PAS leak. Steel hard lines routed under the cooling pack. Had to remove radiator and shift trans and oil coolers out of the way. I've put new pipes on and a new radiator and hopefully thar sorts the coolant loss. Its up and running just in time.

I may have just bought a £1500 addition to the Discovery 2 stable in the shape of an MOT failure TD5.

I've been and had a look. It's a lot worse than I was initially led to believe, so I'm out.

It must be bad! Is there really no value to be had in breaking it or is it just more trouble than its worth?

Unless something is easily breakable the storage alone make the exercise a giant pain in the behind. Add the effort of breaking it when there other thingd to do and the whole farcical exercise of trying to sell it when a lot of folk are just chancers, well. Why? Comes to mind.

FFS take up golf again mark Absolutely no chance. I do occasionally look at cheap hot hatches and sports cars, so I'm not completely lost. I fancy an old Boxter or Z3/4 possibly. Interestingly, having a poke around a crap example made my V8 look really good. The chassis still has its paint and the rust is merely in the background as opposed to the chassis being full of holes. To be honest, I've done the Sports Car thing. And I like messing about with simple agricultural stuff. I do fancy an Old Man Emu Kit on the pickup.

Thinking of getting shot of this old girl. It isn't getting used much and I am fancying a Discovery 3 or RR Sport/FFRR for caravan duties - the pickup is fine, but I think a proper 4x4 SUV will be better - certainly more comfortable for us and the dogs.

Makes sense if you're not doing the off-road stuff now.
Unless I've missed something, what's happened to the 110 Cummins project?

I've still got it. It's a rolling chassis with engine and gearbox installed. Bodywork is next, but that takes time and patience and the former is in short supply at the moment.
