It's a touch wide for green lanes. 🤣

Knowing the roads, I'd rather have an M2 than M6 if I was going down the BMW route

The more I look at those 6 series the less I like them. The front lights look a bit droopy and the body just looks like an oversized 4 series but not in a good way. I'd prefer a same generation M5 which is no less fast but looks a much better resolved design.

If it were my £30k it would almost certainly go into a 981 Cayman but I'd have a long hard look at early Vantages and Evoras too.

A nice late 987 or early 981 for me within 30k. Or, an original M2. You can have the 763 wheels on that too. I've never liked any of the M2 wheels, particularly the Competition ones. The 763 wheels can be had for a lot cheaper than 5k, but still bloody expensive. Lovely design though.

Come the revolution that could be quite handy! Especially with that pick up back - ideal for attaching a 50 cal to.

***must resist making political jibe in response to that Hummer*** Feel free to make it personal! No, it was merely a silly joke and I thought for once I could resist! It's perhaps best not to always say the first thing that pops into one's head, however amusing one might personally find it. It wasn't against you personally anyway. Just my usual sniper fire at Tory high command.

991s are still silly money (I would just buy a new 992 rather than stick £44k into a 2012 car). Wouldn't we all. But I'm not sure that's comparing apples with apples from the perspective of a financial proposition.

It is when you compare the cost of financing used vs new in that particular instance

That silver F-Type is very nice. They are much more to look at than a Boxster.

That silver F-Type is very nice. They are much more to look at than a Boxster. It depends on whether you’re buying something to look at or drive. The F-Type is very tempting though, they are good value used. As you’d expect when the market sets the value.

This raises the interesting prospect of just how do you buy a car now? Turn up at the dealers with hair that hasn't been cut since February asking for the keys for an unaccompanied test drive of their car? Then of course if you aren't trading in you need to get to the dealership, Louisa doesn't drive so that's going to be a challenge too.

I’ve had a couple of dealers email me to say they are open and cover what they’ve got in place to make visiting them safe.
The short answer is you’ll need to call them and make an appointment.

The Qashqai is booked into our local Lookers for its 1st service next week. Apparently it gets a deep clean after (probably a quick whizz round with the Mr. Sheen by one of the apprentices).

All dealerships I know are working with appointments so it needs to be dealt with over the phone first - no spur of the moment decisions.

The 'TurD is due a service and MoT in mid-July, wonder what Humph's lot in Aldershot will do to entice me to take it there, or shall I go independent this year? It's supposedly due a cambelt change too. But as it's in use by an "essential worker" (in fact both of us are, but neither for the NHS) I wonder if it can all be done on a Saturday?
