The Benz is booked in next week with Jackson's for a nice new set of CrossClimate 2's.
They had difficulty getting them and it seems that supply is a problem at the moment, but were able to pull some strings with their Michelin rep.

Mine are fitted now too. One front was leaking air slowly last year, and the fronts were down to 4-5mm so was thinking of changing - then didn't as the rears (while 7mm+) were "new old stock" and I don't want it swapping ends too easily.
I had the wheels refurbished - in black this time (as they should be on this car) and the tyres now all hold pressure which is a bonus. They feel great actually - its been a cold start to winter and the benefits are there already. On one long drive last week there was black ice everywhere and I was truly grateful for them....

I don't know. I shall see how I get on with them when it gets warmer and make a decision then.

Well I would fit my winters but they were ordered on 15 November and still have not turned up. Thank you, not, mytyres. Obviously their definition of "in stock" and mine are rather different. When I called them to ask where they were they took a leaf out of John's golf ball provider (mytyres also being German) and said it was all Brexit's fault. Yeah...right....

If they do not turn up next week, I'll be seeking a refund, although I'm sure they will have some excuse.

I've had a full set of Hankook Synergy 4S2 fitted to the Mondeo. Tyre supply is tricky at the moment, particularly with winter or all seasons. It took ages shopping around to find something in stock that wasn't either premium and priced accordingly like Crossclimate2 or budget tat. The Hankook get some reasonable reviews and I wasn't really prepared to spank as much as a full set of the Michelin, as goid as they are, on a slightly ropey workhorse Mondeo. They feel OK after 2 weeks on the car but yet to be tested in severe weather of course.

The tyres finally arrived at the Jag dealer and it is going in on Thursday for them to be fitted and have its MOT. One month to receive "in stock" tyres.

After exactly a year and 19k, my rear Pilot Sport 4s finally reached the end of their life, which is pretty good going for being on 2 separate RWD diesels.
Decided to replace them with Uniroyal Rainsport 5s, given how much the sky likes a good piss round my way.

Good job….finished 13th in a recent group test, although they did beat the Petlas Imperium and King Meiler Sport Michelins do last a decent amount of time, cost per mile might not be any better with the Rainsports.

I don't pay attention to tyre tests, it's very hard to be subjective when a different tyre behaves differently on different cars.
I had Rainsports on the Clio and they were ace, that's good enough for me.

Having just spent two hours driving in disgusting wet conditions, with standing water everywhere I can safely say that the CC2s are the best tyres for these conditions I have ever experienced.
Whatever you are doing now, stop it for a few moments and order a set of CC2s. You will be able to drive as confidently in deeply crap weather as when the sun is shining.
