I'm on Google Play instead now. Apparently there's not a lot of money to be made in these streaming services, so it's probably best to be using one where the company has lots of money to keep it going. That means Amazon, Apple or Google. Most of the others are on their arse...

Does anyone have to watch Bake Off Creme de la Creme (Mrs L is a big fan) - a show I find intensely annoying with the judges right up themselves - why does it matter if you make 30 odd cakes whether they're all the same size? to take a ruler to cakes is ridiculous - they're just fucking cakes!
Plus the judges are so humorless - and the French guy just seems to be a caricature of a Frenchman - I'm sure he's purposely over exaggerating his accent.

Another devotee of Line Of Duty here. And here - a brilliant show - the end of series 2 was gripping. Unlike Broadchurch which despite the hype, I think had really run its course - like series 1 it was just a random selection of suspects with no real progress to the story until you get to the last episode.

My wife watched that yesterday and I agree with all you say and add that if I was on set I wouldn't of managed to last the first ten minutes before punching Angus Deayton.

This guy annoys her so much we don't linger on that channel for long!

I would consider myself a foodie in as much as I like to cook good food and am always open to trying something new but the sheer array of cooking programmes on TV astonishes me. I've never watched Bake Off, in fact the only TV cookery show I can ever remember seeing regularly was Ready, Steady, Cook! which at least had some value as it was; "here's £5 off random ingredients, let's see what you can do with these" - a bit like my fridge at home. I even caught the German version while on holiday; Kochduell, which sounds far more interesting than it was and let's face it there's only so much you can do with a Bratwurst.

+1 I vaguely remember my mum watching Delia Smith in the 70s/80s but that was it. I've seen about 5 minutes of whichever one it is John Torode (always thought he was Jonty Rode) and Greg Baldy presented and after 5 minutes I wanted to kick the TV.

Sara used to like Bake off and all the Master chef programs but then again she also like to watch the massive weight loss programs too. I have some cooking books but watching people cook and then eat is beyond my comprehension.

Just started watching the old UK-set House of Cards - rather more camp than the US version, but looks like it's going to be highly enjoyable too.
Also enjoyed the Beeb's The Rack Pack, a 90-minute comedy/drama about the Higgins/Davis rivalry, complete with a suitably nostalgic soundtrack. You don't have to give a shit about snooker to enjoy it - suspect it's on iPlayer.
Missing University Challenge, hope they'll do another 'professionals' series in the gap...

Just finished season 3 of Bosch on Amazon Prime. Best one yet and nice cliffhanger ending, although I've now cancelled it after a fit of pique when it refused to work on the main TV, so I may not see the next one.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2. Brilliant, brain out fun. Well worth a watch on the big screen.

I was at a music festival on Saturday and for once it wasn't full of phone-using arseholes. There were very few people standing talking either apart from just after the final act came on - 2 ladies who were clearly long-lost friends (I had seen them chatting earlier) managed to drown out the music for a few minutes. You gotta love those Weegies It didn't spoil a good day though.

Haven't seen the first one yet.
Currently watching a thing on Prime called 19-2 which is an English Canadian remake of a French Canadian series called 19-2.

Enjoyed Rougue One. Watched Selma, the Martin Luther King biopic. Great acting, thought-provoking, but missing a tiny something that I can't quite put my finger on. It may be that when dealing with the heroic/noble-but-assassinated that film-makers are so wary of any implicit criticism or suggestion of imperfection that they don't dig too deeply into their protagonist.

We borrowed Prometheus from a friend last weekend. Started watching it last night and realised after a good while that we'd actually already seen it already but couldn't remember at all what happened!

Currently four episodes into... Into The Badlands. Not bad so far, rather far fetched, but watchable. The Baron's (played by the baddie from the Equalizer) southern accent is amusing, but not as bad as Ray Winstone doing American.

Sticking with my tradition of making music in completely the wrong order, I have designed the artwork for an album that doesn't exist anywhere except in my head, by a band that has only me as a member so far, with no real clue as to what it will sound like. All other music projects (Sphincteral Twitch and Morbid Obesity) are on hold, as they pretty much always have been.

With artwork like that, perhaps you need to cover 'Dead leaves and the dirty ground' by the White Stripes?

Is it coming out on cassette only, as most album formats have square artwork?

The original photo before alteration was taken in portrai mode on my phone.
But yes, cassette only. Only the uber-hip will be able to get a copy.

I've got a cassette head unit in the M5 that still gets used regularly (for one of those tape things that plugs into your iPod).
