Good to see a Yaris GR that isn't white or red.

For a brief moment on the run up to Christmas, I considered selling it whilst used values have increased. I no longer need a diesel as my mileage is less than a quarter of what it was, so my thoughts turned to an Audi S4 B5. The proper meaty V8 one, as they are down to about 4k now.
But, I'd just be changing for the sake of changing, so I decided to lavish some care and attention on the Flying Briefcase instead, hence the new wheels, as my old MV2s were getting very tatty. There's a massive possibility it will be getting a remap very soon.

Treated myself to some new wheels just before Crimbo. I needed new front tyres anyway and I found a full set of wheels with 3 decent tyres for £250. The bonus is that I now have a mint pair of Pilot Sports to sell on and recoup some of thw cost. All I had to do was buy another Michelin for the front.

Does it have Pedestrian Avoidance System? Got to find something to keep them away from the crowds when leaving a car show.

A vulgar display of crass tastelessness.
I expect to see a few roaming the wilds of Wilmslow very soon.

I want to see a boxing match between Charlie and Bill to decide who rules the roost now.

Would you like chlamydia or gonorrhoea?
I don't understand why they're out campaigning and indulging in debates when none of us get a single choice in the matter of which if them becomes the new PM.
It's like:
"You're either going to get rogered by a spiked bat covered in Marmite or have your genitals stood on constantly with a pair of lawn aerating shoes, but you don't get to choose which one"

I have no experience of JLR models personally, nor am I ever likely to, but if my neighbour's Disco 4 is anything to go by....
I also have a mate who runs the local LR independent service centre. He's kept in business very well indeed.

Alright Alan.
I hear nothing good about JLR products in relation to long term reliability, what about something Japanese or Eastern? Kias and Hyundais are some of the best looking and reliable 4WDs on the planet.
Anyway, I'm still here, but joined the dark side a few years back (Diesel, German, Auto)

I've taken to using Autodoc recently. The parts take a little longer to get here, but they're cheaper. I got full service kits for my mates C350 and his Berlingo delivered for £200. I have the app and they credit you a 10p bonus every day if you log in, plus they credited me for the late delivery of the service parts. Not bad for nothing.
GSF have recently taken over CES as well, so I suspect they have a larger market share now and can reduce their prices accordingly.

Since I started going to work on the train, I've only visited the fuel station twice. I paid 1.87 for diesel this morning, which is a step in the right direction, but still about 87p a litre too much.

The one supercar experience I did back in early 2002 was a great laugh, but some of the cars were uber shonky - mainly the 2 fastest ones: A Viper and a Diablo SV.
The Viper was the only LHD car and consequently had a lot of rubber marks on the RHS from where people misjudged their entry into corners and they'd moved the side exit exhausts to rear exit, as it had previously set 2 people on fire...
The Lambo had no functioning AC, the dash was lit up like the London Eye at New Year and it would overheat after a few laps and have to be left to cool down. It was also covered in battle scars and rubber, but at least it had been used properly.

It's been on pretty much every day in my house. Jo is coach for our local girl's under 10's team, which Lottie is a member of, so I'm constantly getting the rundown of everything that has happened in every game. This despite me telling her, every time, that I couldn't give 2 shits. It's just a game and I don't do competitive sports of any kind.
Would it be nice for the Lionesses to win? Of course it would, but it would also trigger mass hysteria and bouts of IT'S COMING HOME!
But, on the flip side, it will piss off the blokey blokes who get triggered by women not making sandwiches or cleaning the house, and that can only be a good thing.

I sometimes go for an imaginary Engine Start button on the Cayman after being in the other two cars, and I sometimes go for the stupid electric handbrake switch with my right hand in either the Yaris or the M3 after being in the Cayman At least all three cars have six-speed manuals and three pedals! Every time I get into Jo's Fiesta or the works Transit, I try and stick the key in the dashboard to the left of the wheel. Without fail.

I almost always stall the wife's Fiesta when coming to a stop because I'm so used to an auto. Ironically, moving away is not a problem, neither is changing gear once moving. It's just coming to a junction.

Not sure the 2001 model was classed as an import given it came from Swindon! Agree though that the models since have been a bit outlandish but it has set them aside from some of the bland competition which was often not dissimilar from the regular models they were based on. I think this new one gets the balance a bit better than the last generation. I meant the 2001 model was the first official one available in the UK.

The Capri might come back, but instead of being a cool 2 door RWD coupe, it'll be a 5 door quasi off roader crossover tall hatch with a 3 pot and hybrid assitance.

The beauty of subscription based options is that the car already has them and as soon as Carly or other OBD based gadgets can access them, they'll be free for second hand owners. Like me.

Weirdly, no Type R has interested me since the original (IE first officially imported to the UK) breadvan of 2001. I drove both that and the spaceship model and the breadvan was far superior. Everything since then has got a bit Max Power. I'm sure they're endlessly reliable and brilliant to drive, but I look enough of a twat without driving a car that makes me look more so.

Tyres!

My front PS4s have managed a total of 40k between the 2 cars they've been fitted on, one of them was getting a bit tasty around the outside edge so I started the hunt for tyres. Lo and behold, a colleague with an M140i has just removed a pair of Pilot Supersports off his car, with loads of tread left. 40 quid later and half an hour on the tyre machine, I have some belting tyres again.

My renewal came through last week, an increase of 50% from £400ish to £600ish, which is just not cricket, even with 3 recent points for speeding. The Meerkats chucked me an offer of £380 with Sheila's Wheels, so a 10 minute call back to Hastings to explain that I wouldn't be accepting their renewal and I got it down to equal footing. Now I don't have to change, send off no-claims and generally piss around. That's 4 years now with the same insurer, must be a record for me.
