Another brother? Yesterday I came across this: My Fiesta's original plate was RX16GOK, so just one vowel difference. This is also a Titanium Ecoboost

Sorry to hear this. Worth buying it back and getting it repaired privately using some used parts, if it really is not damaged very badly?

I think that's bad luck... I wonder if they knew about those marks beforehand and deliberately took ages to find them when you returned the car? I'm pretty sure that they would be deemed "fair wear and tear" by our PCP/leasing companies in the UK, they could have been made by someone with a bag that made contact with the car as they walked past, or by someone cleaning the car between rentals

^ IIRC on the basis that the Malaysian government believe that people need to travel and they can afford to subsidise fuel; a fairly radical viewpoint compared to our own government who seem to want us all to go back to the stone age and not drive anywhere since driving causes pollution

Having just discovered that with loyalty discount I can get 8 nights in a Lille aparthotel for around £50 per night, I've just booked 8 nights in May for EUR451, and Eurostar for just over £100 return. At that price, I can afford some time away..... and it's at the only place I've ever stayed at in Lille so I know it well. Train fares to Brussels are reasonable and it's quick, so I may finally make it there during my stay in France.

I've just had my house insurance renewal through - also gone up by a lot, around 40% to 50% so I'll be shopping around for that too :-( Again I've been told it is the norm as building costs have risen enormously, just like car spares prices.........

T-Cross renewal received overnight by email: Last year £360, this year £520. Shopping around online I can't get it any lower. I know I got a good deal last year but this is somewhat ridiculous, more expensive than the Kuga which also has class 1 business use on the policy but is about 20 insurance groups higher up the scale A few minutes on the phone checking and amending details and I've renewed at £447, just beating the cheapest alternative I had found online by similarly altering a few details (such as excess, miles per year). Result.

I don't know if Pandas do this but the 500 always felt a bit bouncy at the rear over bumps. That's one reason why Ford re-engineered the rear suspension for the Mk II Ka

I don't recall seeing a 500 in the colour you/your wife have chosen..... today I went to Watford and after parking, in the next row of the car park was a 500 in that very shade. It does look good and is certainly unusual

My thoughts - I hate ads and am more inclined to give the relevant companies/products a miss rather than buy them/from them as the ads are so annoying.
Ads are also poorly targetted - I remember the days when for example YouTube was ad-free. Now I am plagued by adverts for Radisson Hotels but I am a member of their "club", so why keep annoying me by reminding me of their name and the fact that they are a hotel chain?

Reminds me of an incident many years back.... where I worked a mature member of staff and his wife went on holiday to Wales. They were in one corner shop looking around and buying some essentials for their stay when two of the locals started talking in Welsh about how English tourist were overrunning the area and ruining it for the locals. What they didn't know was that said colleague's wife was Welsh and understood, and spoke, Welsh perfectly even though her husband didn't. She apparently spouted forth in Welsh noting how the tourists brought their money into the area and kept many local businesses going, as a consequence. This left the two "natives" speechless and in a state of mild shock

I'm a member on another Proboards forum. A couple of weeks ago I had to log in again on that one and this one, no idea why, maybe it's just a periodic "safety" measure. I have had issues on both forums.... on the other one, it's now resolved and I have logged in on both my desktop PC at home and my mobile phone, but on this one, I cannot log in again on my phone, it keeps bringing up an eror saying I have to log in with my user name rather than my email, then failing the password even after resetting it. Technology, eh ?

Cat S is written off for uneconomic repair costs but no structural damage. So if lots of panels and the windows are smashed with airbags deployed likely a Cat S. That's not right... the "S" is for Structural damage. Cat N is Non-structural damage Cat S and cat N can both be repaired and put back on the roads; it's generally the cost of repairs that makes them a write-off. Plenty of "sponsorship ads" on the internet at the moment, especially for Car Vertical make a play about not buying a Cat S car because it's been written off for structural damage, but the S means that although it has been structurally damaged, it is OK for it to be repaired and put back on the road, it's just that the insurers don't want to do this for cost reasons. In many other cases, cars are categorised as Cat N because the cost or providing a loan car will make the "repair" uneconomic. The fact that the cost of the repairs may be very little but the expected time taken for the rpair means that the loan car cost will be prohbitively expensive means that a lightly damaged car could be penalised by being written off as a Cat N although the actual repair costs are low and certainly not enough to be the sole reason to write the car off

Have you tried Carwow or Motorway for selling the Audi? You may have a bit of work to take all the photos they want as evidence but you also may be pleasantly surprised by how much you are offered

(snip).....possibly because the Govt were by that time the owners of RBS and would no doubt have to pick up the cost. (snip) Whenever you see "Government would have to pick up the cost" - they don't, the tax payer does. The MPs don't put their money at risk with the bad decisions they make, it's generally Joe Public who pays up though their taxes. It's also a shame that local authority staff are not held financially accountable - e.g. Woking BC who are effectively bankrupt having poured a huge amount of council tax payers money into allegedly dodgy property schemes connected with the town centre redevelopment. Aslo, how is it that some Local Authority Heads award themselves (through voting, no doubt) a salary higher than the Prime Minister's ?

I've had such poor experiences with Virgin Mobile and Virgn Media over the years that I was greatly relieved last autumn when I finally ditched them totally and now have internet and phone provided by Vodafone. Openreach connected the old BT line back up to the house and in general terms I'm getting a faster connection than VM's alleged "up to 150 Mb/s" (or was it 200?) which rarely exceeded 40 Mb/s

There was an article recently (I thinki t was on YouTube) where the ugly styling was attributed to the demand in China. Thing is, in the overall scheme of developing a nw car, the cost opf an additional mould tool for a different front bumper plus different shaped lights etc, is negligible. So why not 2 front ends, one being China-specific?
