Has anybody got any good experience with, or know of, a reliable company that would ship a car to/from Scandinavia?
Thanks

I'm afraid not. The only person I know who has brought a car back from Scandinavia ended up driving it back himself - I think this decision was reached partly because of the cost.

I have a couple of good contacts for shipping if they are of any use to you?

I have a couple of good contacts for shipping if they are of any use to you? Might be yes. The backdrop is that we were thinking of doing a road trip in Norway, but the car hire for two weeks is extortionate. So Mrs RT was wondering about road tripping there in the Macan from London and then shipping the car back. I suspect it’s an insane idea but promised to look into it.

Or let her get a flight home if she'd rather not drive and you can continue enjoying some fun roads across Europe for a few days.

Is there an answer yet as to what is being shipped? Yes - the Macan after a road trip up to and around Norway.

If you read the article I put a link to above, it takes about 11 or 12 hours to drive from France up to Denmark, so I think for the avoidance of the hassle (and the obvious cost) of trying to arrange to get the car brought back, I would just drive it.

Its an interesting idea! I have wanted for a few years to do a long road trip from the tunnel up to the artic circle in Norway, passing through Denmark/Sweden on the way - it would be epic! The scenery on the Norwegian coast looks absolutely incredible. It would not be a cheap trip mind, and I think their speed limits are exceedingly dull. But its on my bucket list!!!
I also want to drive around the entire coast of Italy at some point.

It won't help in this particular scenario, but Harry M used a car transport company to take a couple of cars down to Spain and he explains the costs / cost benefit in detail. If you're travelling a decent distance as part of a group, it makes a lot of sense.

You're right about speed limits, 50mph max in Norway iirc.

You could get a ferry from The Hook of Holland to Harwich to cut down on the driving back.
Alternatively you could fly to Norway andback, and rent a car instead, unless you are determined that you want to take the Scottish Porsche there

Benco Freight in Hounslow, the main chap is called Mick Notter. I worked with him whilst I was at BAC from 2015 until I left in 2022. Very experienced in shipping of high value and rare cars. He and I developed the method for shipping Monos to the USA without sending them as individual components. They don't have a website, but give him a call if you need and tell him I put you on to him. 01753 686699.

Can I be a listener on the phone call where Racing says, in his extremely cultured tones, “my good friend “Blarno” has advised that you could assist me.”
😂
(apologies for such snobby humour but it made me laugh)
