We're having a bit of a "year from hell" in our family so when the opportunity arose and I was able to visit Berlin on the cheap, I took advantage; last Wednesday to this Tuesday. The paint has been cleared off the Brandenburger Tor: and someone definitely hasn't beeen forgotten: Interestingly (?) the UK-issued TK Maxx "Treasure" loyalty card works out there ! Oh - and I made it to the top of the Victory Column this time too, and the Tempelhof Airport control tower

I walked past what appeared to be a Fisker showroom in Berlin a few days ago. It was in total darkness with no notice on the door/windows. Have they gone under?

It amuses me this Italian thing of naming cars after their home cities and getting away with it - Ferrari Modena, Alfa Milano. The Jaguar Coventry just wouldn't quite have the same ring. I suppose Vauxhall did do the Luton, but that was appropriately enough a van. The TVR Unsure... does anyone know what is actually happening with TVR or is nobody interested any more?

The last time I went through Guildford (Easter Sunday), the Porsche showroom looked like a building site, so I guess you are right about someone having to pay for it.....
And tough on anyone looking to buy their first Porsche from this dealer if their initial impression is no showroom, a building site mess and all cars parked outside in a none-too-convenient location

I thought I was going to witness an accident this morning as I walked back home frm church.... Walking alongside the main road on the pavement, a car went past that I suspect was travelling at the speed limit or thereabouts (30mph). Not far from a right-hand T-junction with a side road, it put its indicator on just as a motorbike came up behind it "out of nowhere" doing well in excess of the speed limit and with a somewhat loud exhaust (no doubt illegal as it was a little painful on the eardrums). I suspect that the driver hadn't even seen the bike... fortunately the bike was travelling so far in excess of the speed limit that it passed the car just before the car started to move right, across the other side of the road to make the turn.... I wonder if the driver even saw the bike as it overtook the car

How does he fancy driving a former Jordan F1 car? driftlimits.co.uk/jordan-f1-experiences/I drove a Formula Renault single seater there a few years back, Christmas present from my younger daughter. It's also where I paid extra on the day and got to drive a Gallardo for a few laps

They're still relatively cheap, even cheaper for barn find basket cases. The hardest decision will be the engine/gearbox choice. Dead easy - the underpinnings and drivetrain from a BAC Mono......

The alternative is to emigrate to a country that speaks English and where there are no plans to phase ouit cars powered by internal combustion engines.
I'm of the age where I hope I die before I have to have an electric-powered vehicle

You could get a ferry from The Hook of Holland to Harwich to cut down on the driving back.
Alternatively you could fly to Norway andback, and rent a car instead, unless you are determined that you want to take the Scottish Porsche there

Didn't quite get it in one but the full reveal shot shows it IMHO as quite ugly. Not the best angle from which to view it

I've lost count of how many 24-plates I've seen so far. They seem much more prolific that any of the other "new" numbers that have been released over the past few years

Sorry to hear this. Worth buying it back and getting it repaired privately using some used parts, if it really is not damaged very badly?

I think that's bad luck... I wonder if they knew about those marks beforehand and deliberately took ages to find them when you returned the car? I'm pretty sure that they would be deemed "fair wear and tear" by our PCP/leasing companies in the UK, they could have been made by someone with a bag that made contact with the car as they walked past, or by someone cleaning the car between rentals

^ IIRC on the basis that the Malaysian government believe that people need to travel and they can afford to subsidise fuel; a fairly radical viewpoint compared to our own government who seem to want us all to go back to the stone age and not drive anywhere since driving causes pollution

Having just discovered that with loyalty discount I can get 8 nights in a Lille aparthotel for around £50 per night, I've just booked 8 nights in May for EUR451, and Eurostar for just over £100 return. At that price, I can afford some time away..... and it's at the only place I've ever stayed at in Lille so I know it well. Train fares to Brussels are reasonable and it's quick, so I may finally make it there during my stay in France.
