Missed this thread for some reason. I have been following the iPace with interest, I'd prefer a sportier saloon shape than SUV but I do like the looks. I've even had the odd moment where I have seriously considered a new EV just for the experience, and because even in quite out of the way service stations, hotels, and other car parks I see increasing numbers of charging points being deployed - and hardly ever any in use.
However there are two main problems there. The first is that those charging points almost without fail have "Tesla" written all over them. The second is that - as people have pointed out, the iPace is very expensive, especially so when you option it up, and especially so on finance. A Tesla S 75 is around a grand a month on 3 years/15k miles with nothing bar 3 monthly payments up front. I have not done the detail on specs, but when I specced up an iPace I easily got past 80k just trying to keep some kind of parity with the XFR standard spec. That car had a great spec, but a lot of things like keyless, good wheels, heated and cooled seats, the brightest lights, etc that I would want again are now options pretty much across the Jaguar range, which is a shame.

Decreasing standard spec seems to be a new favourite way to avoid price rises.
For example, when we bought the 500 in Nov 2013, as a Twinair Lounge, it came with digital climate control as standard. Now it’s a circa £300 option.

Not feeling the styling on the I Pace myself - it looks like the driver slammed the brakes on and everything waist up slid forward and never settled back to where it should be. Price is a complete irrelevance for me anyway! £25k is the most I've ever spent on a car and I think that has turned out to be my psychological limit.

The looks are definitely conservative and they could have been a bit more adventurous but it is far from ugly. Is the price a reflection of new tech?

Indeed. Occasionally my wife mutters about changing it but I think we'll hold on to it for a while yet. It's likeable, cheap, amusing to drive and fit for purpose.

I saw an I Pace on the road this morning. Even in white it looked good.

I see Google are buying uo to 20,000 of them for conversion to self driving cars.
Quite a coup for Jaguar if they are not going out at a loss - that gives them some good initial volume.

I wouldn't expect them to be paying anywhere near list price. In fact I would expect them to be sold at loss with some of that loss being written off in the marketing budget.

Having had a brief passenger ride in one on Saturday and experiencing how ridiculously quick it was, I can't help thinking that a version with lower powered motors and a longer range should be forthcoming. It was mightily impressive, but not everyone wants to be fired at the horizon out of an aircraft carrier's catapult!

I'm in Cherwell Valley Services and look what I found.... Actually I was here first. It says prototype on it so I guess its testing something. I think the rear is a bit too boxy for me but it looks better than the any Tesla.

I like it a lot but it's not as good looking as a Tesla Model S.

I seriously considered one of these but at over £1K a month on a PCP and over £40K left outstanding at the end, it is just too expensive.

They're not easy to park by the looks of it!

I know that’s quick (90D) Tesla money, but that’s too expensive as well. It would be cheaper to have an F Pace SVR, a car that got a bit further through the shortlist process.
