What has the nearness to Christmas have to do with anything? I hardly think his behaviour would be a bit more palatable had he just waited until January to chase and run down another road user!

Driving to my father in laws yesterday and was surprised at how quiet the roads were. It was lashing rain which might have kept people at home. Anyway, I was almost at his place when a Yaris pulled out from a minor road and then paused, I actually said out loud “don’t do it…” and of course, he did. I had plenty of braking room but driver trundled out in front of me and hesitated before joining the oncoming lane. It was an old guy driving it who had his side window open (in the lashing rain) so I’m wondering if he had difficulty seeing.

Driving west along the A27 just past Chichester earlier a Sportage just ahead of us in the left lane was drifting about and swerved towards the car overtaking it only narrowly avoiding a collision. I made some space before putting in a bit more speed to get past quickly only to see the fat bastard driving it had a full McDonald's bag on the dash in front of him and it was his negotiation of an Egg McMuffin that was the cause of his impaired Driving. His equally fat wife and daughters were also tucking in seemingly unaware that their Dad's unwillingness to finish scoffing his breakfast before taking to the motorway nearly caused them to have a rather severe accident.

Why is it SO many drivers these days feel the need to swing out to the right before turning left in to a junction? It seems worse somehow when it's a small car like the Fiesta I witnessed this morning, who was about 2 inches away from side-swiping the van next to it!!
I used to wonder if it was an off-duty artic driver - now I think it's just stupidity.

It is unclear if this is a legitimate update or just a Facebook hoax, but regardless, it certainly seems like a sinister move. While it may be understandable to take measures to ensure safety on the roads, this new livery for speed camera vans seems to be a somewhat villainous approach. If you're looking for something more positive, you may want to consider Car Window Tinting Stockport for a more personalized touch to your vehicle. New livery for speed camera vans. Not sure if this is a Facebook fake or not, but definitely villainous!

When you're driving a vehicle you're not familiar with and getting a bit bored on the motorway, it's probably not a good idea look at an unmarked button and wonder "what does this do".

Our next-door neighbour had his M340i Touring stolen last night. He's only had it a couple of months. Apparently, they broke into the house and took the keys.

That's a real shame and I hope the catch the b*stards. I dare say, given its performance and subtle looks, it makes a perfect getaway vehicle.

Oh dear, a good choice of vehicle to steal, the police aren't keeping up with it, big boot, sails under the radar and given the performance, an M3 in all but name.

Joining the motorway from a 70mph limit slip road behind a van an a Merc CLS. As we came to the merge point there was a red metallic Suzuki SUV thing in the inside lane, doing maybe 60mph but with nothing in the middle or outside lanes. Instead of speeding up or pulling in to the middle lane, he slowed down. The van accelerated and by using a bit of hard shoulder got out ahead on the Suzuki but the Suzuki kept slowing down and the Merc basically had to stop, forcing me into stopping too. Meanwhile traffic was piling down behind us at 70mph and was pulling around the Suzuki who by this time was down at under 30mph. Finally he pulled ahead but we couldn't pull out because of the cars coming down from behind. Finally we managed to get out with some hard acceleration but some people just shouldn't be allowed on the road. We then caught the Suzuki who was now sitting in the middle lane doing 55/60 causing even more grief!

This morning coming to work, there was a new Toyota Rav4 in front of me as we came to a roundabout (at that time in the morning you seldom have to stop). However there was an Audi A5 coupe indicating that it was coming round the roundabout and we were going to have to stop. The Rav 4 approached the roundabout as if he wasn't stopping, then hit his brakes and stopped about a foot over the give way line. This obviously annoyed the Audi driver who then deliberately slowed down just at the moment the Rav4 driver thought the Audi would be past him. The Rav started to move and then had to hit his brakes again, at which point the Audi slammed on his brakes and stopped, trying to block the Rav4 (as well as the rest of the roundabout). The Rav4 managed to squeeze around the back of the Audi just as the Audi driver jumped out all red faced and swearing at which point he looked a real prick standing in the middle of the road beside his abandoned car. The Rav4 was a bit presumptive but the Audi almost tried to cause a crash. All a bit much for 6.30am!

I’ve noticed a lot of these dashcam warriors deliberately don’t slow down at potential conflict situations in the hope of getting some content they can submit to You Tube.

The worst drivers nearly always have dashcams. I keep well away from the ones who feel the need to have stickers inform everyone they have them fitted.

Driving from Greenock to Glasgow yesterday on the A8/M8 and came up behind a Skoda Fabia who was in the outside lane. His speed fluctuated between 60 and 70 and one minute he had a wheel over the white line on the inside and the next he was over the white line on the outside firing stones and other rubbish into the road. We came to a large roundabout where I thought I might have a chance to pass him if we had to stop but he totally straight lined everything at speed, having pulled on to the roundabout right in front of a van. I caught him up again and he was still driving in the same manner for another couple of miles, by which time we arrived at the next roundabout which he straight lined again at nearly 70mph and had a close call with the back of a lorry as he did so. I presume just after this, he must have put his phone down because he stopped weaving about and then drove "normally" with the exception of the fact that he disappeared in to the distance at what must have been 90+. What a plonker!

The pity is that when Darwin catches up with him, he'll take someone else with him.

As I was out walking early this afternoon on the pavement of a somewhat narrow one-way French sidestreet, I became aware of a car driving down it the wrong way. There just happened to be 2 Gendarmes walking close behind me, and they both shouted out loudly whereupon said car stopped. Last seen with the driver deep in conversation with the 2 officers of the law.....

I was tailgaited by a Tesla Y this morning as I ambled along at about 30mph behind a van in a 30mph limit. We got to a roundabout that leads on to a 40mph dual carriageway around a sweeping right and then left hand bend. The van pulled to the outside lane as we rounded the roundabout and I stuck behind him in the hope he would pull over to the inside lane. The Tesla immediately went for the left lane and floored it as we started on the right hand bend. The car was squat at the rear as he passed me but he ran out of front end grip, lifted off which led to some big oversteer (at which point he braked) and almost spun in to the side of the van. Thankfully he hit nothing, trundled around the rest of the right left corner and then applied a lot of throttle to take him well ahead of us.
I can't help but think that giving the average Joe a car that has two or three times the power and torque of anything they have driven before might just be a recipe for disaster.

Driving to work today and I saw a car join the main road we were on from the slip road on the left. The driver turned hard right and then drove the wrong way around the island they had just gone past in the bike lane, while the traffic was driving towards them on the correct side of the road. The driver was a learner, with no qualified driver beside them and it happened across the road from the police station.
None of the drivers reacted because they were all in shock at seeing such blatantly bad and dangerous driving!

Exactly right - I see Teslas being given the full beans on a regular basis, throw in a wet surface and any sort of bend, and the laws of physics will not be interested in saving you just because its an EV... I had a new one yesterday driving back from my parents with Lu in the car, minding my own business below the speed limit on a lovely country road - a modded E36 followed by modded E46 3 series came the other way at breakneck speed, the driver of the latter flipped me the bird particularly aggressively as he went past, presumably as I was.... driving a Porsche
