Loads of interesting cars heading from the M1 towards Bedford this morning when I was going the other way, must be a track day at the Bedford Autodrome.
Not sure about the Caterham with a GT3 style rear wing and no windscreen though.

Earlier today on the A3 near Guildford.... An Arial Nomad. First one I've ever seen Wouldn't be surprised if it's the same one I've seen as recently I've seen the same one a few times. One of my work colleagues recently chopped in his Atom for a Nomad. He's in the Salisbury area. Apparently he's managed to be one of the highest mileage Atom drivers, something around 50 or 60k in total I believe.

No, he took the car allowance. He did have a C43 AMG estate but I think that got traded against an older Land Cruiser that he'll use to tow his classic F3/Formula Ford (can't remember which of those he has). I'm told he has half a dozen classic bikes as well as an early 70s 911 in pristine condition.

I'm not a massive fan of Porsche 911s but at the weekend I saw a very lovely early 70s one in dark blue with Racing spec leather, the only apparent mod being 16 inch versions of the polished 5 spoke Fuchs alloys. It was absolutely immaculate.
Anyway a quick look at the MOT checker tells me it's a 1993 car so clearly a re-imagined thing that probably cost more than a genuine early 70s version. In addition the mileage went from 131k in 2006 to 6 miles in 2008 - presumably when it was rebuilt.
I'd actually happily have it and hopefully manage more than the 3 or 4 hundred miles a year its been doing recently....

A black R8 convertible. Looked like a very new one.

Parked beside a Taycan Turbo yesterday. Seen one in a showroom but not on the road before. Slightly underwhelming considering the price tag.

An über rare W124 E36. These were built before AMG were consumed into Daimler Benz so are proper “built by a couple of blokes” cars. Looked immaculate and I’d normally say some older enthusiast was at the wheel but these days “older enthusiasts” are around my age…….

Bit of a supercar(ish) day today. DB11 on the way to work this morning, then a Macan Turbo near to work itself (parked up in Possil? Someone with a gun was surely somewhere nearby!!)
On the way home, a Urus and a brace of Panameras. And, every single one of those cars was black!

Last Saturday was the Camberley Car Show, I've not had time to sort out some photos but most of the exhibits were the same old cases as in previous years. Sadly for Mike Amos, I didn't see Edd China to ask about a certain Type 3 and asking some of the "staff" they didn't know where he was or what time he may have been appearing. However a real rarity was this: An orange Charger of particular vintage that didn't have "01" painted on the doors, or a flag painted on the roof

I followed a fairly early NSX briefly this week, locally. It had been Barried a bit I think, it was incredibly noisy. Another one of those cars that was incredible value until the market caught up - annoyingly this was common when I was too young to buy/insure such things!

The world's officially mad! A friend has just turned up to show me his new (2018) 991.2 Carrera S. It cost him over £90K and although I didn't say to him, that can't be more than about £10K less than it cost new and probably £15K more than it would have been, used, a year ago! When is the market going to implode.

Yesterday, on the A84 near Callander, a Rolls-Royce Ghost and then soon after, a Phantom. With John's friend above, Scotland must be where all the money is.

When is the market going to implode. That is mad, lovely car but I really couldn’t pay that much for one. I’d like it to implode in about 18 months please! I was browsing Autotrader and if my car was for sale now, it would be £1-5k more than I paid 15 months / 16k miles ago and a LFL replacement would be at least £15k more. I stuck the details into Motorway out of interest and the estimate is only £500 less than I paid, so when I think about what I expected it to cost, I’m more than £15k ahead of plan. That’s all a bit academic though, as even with man maths the cost to change (if upgrading) is going to be greater and who knows when the market might crash. The estimated price on Motorway for the Golf is £27k and that’s for a base car, so would go up when the options are added and the dealers see the condition. Not bad for a car that cost £34.5k just over 3 years and 30,000 miles ago. But unfortunately that doesn’t mean anything either, as I still can’t think of anything I’d want to change it for.

Today I saw a new M3 and I didn’t hate it, not in the least. I’ve booked myself into specsavers.

I keep looking at Nissan 370Zs and over the last 6 months prices have really gone daft. I traded mine 2 1/2 years ago at 33k miles for £17k. If I'd kept it and used it the same amount it'd be just under 50k miles and probably sellable at £22k. Recently the last few new Nismo versions were available with an £8k discount bringing them to about £32k whereas now a year old one with 5-10k is at 35 grand Madness

A convoy of various Land Rovers and Range Rovers, all but one in swirly disguise. All had the same, small orange sticker in the windscreen. Mixed in and and following the convoy was a selection of Audi and Porsche SUVs, also with the orange sticker in the screen and looking very much part of the same outing. Comparing with the competition.

Nothing special really I suppose, but my first M340i on the way home tonight. Externally, not very impressive in a light metallic grey. Only doing about 55-60mph too, made me wonder if he was worried about a big fuel bill!

I spotted my first new M3 yesterday and really with I hadn't. I'm sure it would've been much better (or less bad) in a dark colour but Primer Grey just emphasised the front grille and it reminded me of Michael Jackson's nose after all his surgery! Unpleasant
