Official launch is at The Earls Court Building on Friday at the Goodwood revival. Meanwhile, they have released an official image. www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/new-cars/tvr-shows-first-image-480bhp-£90k-comeback-coupéThere is a live video on Facebook on Friday at the actual unveiling which I hope to see. £90k though. Ouch. That's somewhat different to the £50k they originally mentioned although I knew this would increase somewhat.

Can't see the pictures because my Malewarebytes says it's dangerous!
However I don't need to see anything to know that an unproven car from a reborn manufacturer at £90,000 is really going to struggle.

I'm looking forward to seeing what they come up with for this and hope it works out well. There are lots of shut lines apparent on the rendering and my concern is that unless these are delivered with consistency and precision the overall look of the car will be cheap and of poor quality.

However I don't need to see anything to know that an unproven car from a reborn manufacturer at £90,000 is really going to struggle. They've sold out for the next two years production. Mostly deposits from current TVR owners - I know several who have deposits down. I wonder how many will try and sell them though.

Some will likely cash in on the waiting list thing but if it is reasonably well made for the money and goes off a stick in the right way, it could be something left of field for those who like different.

I'm really not sure about that yet. From some angles - front 3/4, side - it is OK, but the air intakes below the lights look odd in some of the pictures - like they are extensions of the headlights themselves. . The rear is very messy indeed.
It is almost as if they wanted to redesign the original Griffith (which was a superb pure shape), but had to keep enough of the mad elements of the later cars to try and keep both camps of buyers happy - the people who want a reborn classic TVR and those who thought the Sagaris was good.
I'm very much in the former camp.

I quite like it as well, would need to see one to be sure, especially the interior. But quite like' isn't good enough for close to £100k.

It's not bad but I don't like the headlights and from side-on there is some visual bulk missing above the belt-line behind the B pillar.

Yes yes and yes. Apart from the Lidl costing plastics and some cheap interior design that is rather wonderful. Aggressive, purposeful and brutish. Rear reminds me of what the upcoming Supra rear design is like from what spy-shots suggest
Love the KILL switch on the dash. Laser guided missiles for middle-lane hoggers and slow driver on A-roads I'd love to think, but guess it's the engine off switch

I like the Peter Wheeler tribute where they've made all the buttons look like cigarette lighters.

I like it a lot more after seeing this video.
The short rear makes it look like a TVR. They've always had that line towards the back.

Where does Shmee get his money? He seems to buy one of everything which is fast and expensive!

I think he only keeps them long enough to say he's had one and make a turn on it.
I met him once years ago when I was living in Belgravia. Seemed alright, albeit overly obsessed with photographing the local hypercars. Already back then he was driving a V8 Vantage roadster, so I suspect he originally had a day job in the City of some sort.
He's got a teensy bit irritating since then.

I'm glad the car is a reality, but it looks as if it's trying far too hard in my opinion. Makes the GT4 look restrained!

I like the pentagram-esque wheels, but otherwise it looks like a Toyota GT86 that crashed into Halfords.

I like that a lot and really hope they succeed.

Me either, especially as the second gen Griffith of the 90s was a lovely, simplistic design. It just happened to be brutal. Like a sledgehammer wrapped in silk.

I'm more generous than a few of you, I was thinking Lexus LFA for the side view rather than GT86.
Like:- Overall shape Interior Exhausts It exists
Dislike Aero bollocks, especially spoiler & diffuser Wheels Engine bay Too many shut lines

I was lucky enough to see the car at the revival on Friday and to be fair its no GT86, however as Dan pointed out on my Facebook post, Ginetta might have something to say as its very similar to the G55

The MG SV did indeed nick its headlights from the Punto. Re the TVR, for me the biggest disappointment is the interior. It's nothing like the flowing curves of Marks Chimeara. I loved the dashboards of the late 90's / early 00's TVR's. There was nothing like it and it adds so much to the sense of occasion you get sitting in one. I appreciate that is a rather stupid criticism coming from the driver of a Golf!

Criticise away but I actually quite like the interior with only the air vents and stalks appearing to be a little out of place.
IT was always going to be an impossible task to please everyone. You can't launch a new Tiv with retro wooden dash, Panasonic stereo and ashtrays for the mk2 Escort and when you see how few V8 Ftype convertibles there are on the roads you need to come up with a new solution.

I hope they make it work, I really want this to work, I used to go to the Barnet showroom after a duty sequence that got a bit heavy. Making phish eyes through the showroom window but the manager was a real petrol head and when I could sleep after a long stretch of work I could go and sit in the service bays and watch TVR's being fettled. It grounded me and I miss that.

Just had an email from the TVRCC and TVR Manufacturing to state that the new Griffith will be on the TVRCC stand at the classic. Looking forward to that.
