What's the significance of PE? An old, Guildford registration from the days when the DVLA or its predecessor had local offices

Ok, so it isn't a car, but it is one of my forms of transport. A true 'built, not bought' machine. Literally built from parts lying around in the garage - only the chainring and chainring bolts are new, off the shelf items. Total outlay is currently a staggering £25, £13 of which was 4 years ago when I bought the second-hand disc brake for the front. If the car building game doesn't work out for me, I may go back to building bikes. I forgot how fun it is. Anyway, this thing is purely for jumping. Light, solid and easy to manouevre. Unlike me.

^Amazing value ! I love the "BAC MONO" sticker - is that part taken from a genuine car (the pedal box? - sorry couldn't resist)

It was a damper sticker that was no longer needed.

The Fiesta has gone and was a cracking car. Makes me very interested in the new ST as I suspect the fun v decent ride and comfort equation will be really impressive.
Sadly it doesn’t quite match up to the GT3, GT4, 750i and the Golf R.
I now have an EcoSport ST-Line 1.0 125ps Automatic in Lightning Blue with a black roof. The same as the one in the adverts basically. I can’t remember the options but it has keyless entry, a sunroof, rear camera, heated seats and wheel and the 18” wheels at the absolute least.
I know most will dislike this on principle but I think it is now the top seller in the segment since the facelift, and I really like it. Now built in the old B-Max factory and the quality and build seem spot on. The oft derided looks of the original have been massively improved (esp with this paint/roof/wheels combo) and the Fiesta a like interior is in a different league to the old one.
I’ve never driven an EcoBoost auto before. It removes a lot of the joie de giver and pace of the 1.0, but I don’t regret it at all as it makes life so easy. Ride and handling seem good to me (reviews were fairly average) - not as good as the Fiesta but more ‘fun’ than a Kuga for example.
Small, side opening boot is a minor annoyance but I knew that when I ordered it.

^ Do you have to have a different car each time, or could you have had another Fiesta but different spec?
Do you know why there is still such a dire choice of colours on the new Fiesta? (both the limited numbers of cooours and the blandness/restricted shades - largely red or grey, no blues unless you count the one blue-green shade, no yellows, browns, golds, oranges)

I could have had another but when you change a lot a bit of variety is good.
In terms of colours it is two things I think. We will have someone looking at trends and fashion etc, but ultimately it is demand. Brown orange and yellow generally do badly, and affect residuals.

You chose the Ecosport? It’s ok it’s got Ford keyless entry so someone will nick it soon enough! 😜

It’s ok it’s got Ford keyless entry so someone will nick it soon enough! 😜 At the last theft I heard of at a Ford dealership, the thieves broke into the showroom to get the keys for a couple of Ecosports. Then they moved the Ecosports so they could nick the Fiestas that were behind them!

What's happening to the B-Max? Will it stay in production, or is there a replacement based on the new Fiesta or is it being dropped?

Well the deal has been done, collect the new (to me) one next week. It's quite strange, and not a little emotional (What? Yes, I am!) to see the old girl wearing this number; first time in nearly ten years! Amazing to think this morning when I woke up it was still registered with DVLA on my git plate - sometimes all this IT progress is a good thing. Shit's getting real now!

I know how that feels..... So, what’s the replacement?? Much more boring and prosaic than this one! Same stable as Herself's, only a bit smaller and back to a DIY 'box. Still 4WD though.

Close; had a drive of one last week, but it was a bit dear and "only" FWD. I was put off by potential running costs too on the vRS I must admit, even though it's had the belts done recently, and it had a lot more miles on than my one. This is an SEL with Nav, drives very nicely and has a nice lot of torque at the bottom end. Given the Legacy cost pennies less than £70 to fill last night (from the light just coming on, so another 40-50 mile to go before empty) and fuel only going up in price atm, I'm happy to have made the decision to move on.

Well, that's everything of mine out of the car, ready for the change tomorrow afternoon; the only thing I couldn't get out was the windscreen mount for my Roadhawk dashcam - that thing isn't coming off without some serious elbow grease and a chisel!!
Took it for a last thwapp round some local roads tonight; full Sport#-mode and paddle shifting, picked some roads that are pretty well-sighted and had a blast! With everything taken out it seemed much more lively than I thought it would, though Im 99% sure that was all in my head - the stuff I took out wasn't that heavy!
16 hours to go, give or take, starting to get a bit excited now!

Good luck with the new car. Are you trading the Subaru or did you find a buyer? Thanks John. I've traded it, even though I would probably have got more selling it privately. Frankly though, it wasn't worth the hassle for what would be probably only a few hundred extra, and I've got quite a few things off it (mats, console box, boot liner etc) to sell separately on UKL; actually, the box and mats are gone already!
Plus, there are a few horrible noises the dealer failed to fix - or even identify - at the last service, which I don't want anyone coming back to me about!
