Easter Friday, the sun is shining and I am working - we are off to St Andrews for the weekend but I think I am just going to shut up shop, tell everyone to go home early and go and cut the grass or wash the car or anything but sit here!

I was off yesterday as well, been tidying out the garage, working on a couple of bikes. I'd have happily gone to work but the schools deem it necessary to close for 2 weeks over Easter.

No holiday for me over Easter. Work didn't finish early on Thursday and we struggled all last week with people on holiday then several people being off sick, and we're back on Tuesday for an 8am start as normal. I hope to spend a few days in France in May, strikes permitting....

I’ve only got the 4 days off, but flying off the first week of June off to get some sun and avoid the worst week of house disruption.

Company holiday today. After the funeral yesterday, I needed it. Then I saw that I’d a load of missed calls from work and returned one of them to be asked if I was not in. I said it’s a company holiday. “Not for people covering contracts”. “Well I spoke to (managers name) about it and he told me we had the day off and there was no communication saying we had to be in”
“We’ll talk about it next week.”
To be honest, the guy on the other end of the phone isn’t even a manager, so he’s pissed off that I took a day I’m entitled to without his knowledge. He will report it to his manager and probably mine and to be honest, I don’t care. I enjoy working with the majority of my colleagues and I’m not putting up with this guys BS.
So, I had the day off, and I’m off on Monday. And I’m not bothered about what the guy said as he’s nothing to back up what he said. I’ll go into work on Monday and if he says anything to me, I’ll get on to HR.
I’m a bit grouchy though as to add to the death of my cousin, my wife’s aunt passed away last night. This has become some week.

On the farm every day until the cows go out in May, but I'm finished by lunchtime most days.
We've got five nights in Cromer booked in the middle of May then I'm off to Le Mans in June before Lindsey and I head off to Croatia for two weeks.

Went twice last year , in March and then in August for the carnival.

Haven't been since 1992. We are taking the van and staying on the Seacroft club site.

I visited Cromer a long time ago when I was 2 years old. Don’t remember it but that chippy looks good.

We have the bank holiday's off - which is unusual for Mrs M having moved from Retail to a GP Surgery environment - unfortunately our time together isn't as we'd planned and we are cancelling our plans left right and centre because I have Man Flu and she is coming down with Lady Flu
That means we aren't going to Mrs M Snr for Easter (just had a heart attack/stent, severe COPD) as she doesn't need another chest infection/lurgy - despite her seemingly buying Morrisons for us to visit for a day....
I should still make the Boys poker evening but will leave early and not drink (so that should save me a few £££s playing overconfident as I get drunker )
SiL visit on Monday still in the balance

When I worked in Scotland we didn’t get Easter Monday off. I used to confidently tell everyone that I was on an English contract (there was no such thing) and walk out the door on the Thursday telling everyone I’d see them on Tuesday. Worked every year and no-one queried it.

Nope, 2 long days in the workshop rebuilding rear hubs and replacing wheel bearings, very relaxing.

Worked every year and no-one queried it. When I moved to the Midlands I was perplexed the first year when people say "see you on Monday" on the Wednesday before Easter. Turned out that a lot of Black Country based firms take Thursday and Friday at Easter rather than Friday ad Monday. I said I had plans on Easter Monday so I was taking Friday and Monday. Turns out quite a few people also liked that holiday as their partner had Friday and Monday. So nobody challenged it and it became that people had the choice thereafter.

Away at the outlaws in a Kia estate of some kind. Will be spending a lot of time in spas, relaxing with my new fully functioning spine.

Up on Wetherlam and Swirl How yesterday. Off the busy routes, but with some of the most stunning scenery in Westmoorland We often come up here at Easter and everywhere is noticeably less Spring-like than usual. I would say that it is a good four weeks behind where it should be for greenery in mid-April.

When my hypertension was diagnosed (initially by me, somewhat ironically) there was absolutely nothing to indicate it, and mine was 260-ish/143!! The A&E Consultant didn't believe the first BP machine's reading and went off to get another one! Hope your wife's BP improves soon. Incidentally, I'm on 3 different antihypertensives, but the only issue is I'm not allowed to drink grapefruit juice. ( ) Up on Wetherlam and Swirl How yesterday. I put my name down for the ballot for the Old Course on Sunday morning, just because I was there and I got a tee time for this afternoon! We spent the weekend at St Andrews in a very nice airbnb, got back at 7pm last night and I am about to head off again for a round of golf this afternoon. Fingers crossed the rain stays away until we finish. It will be a very short and enjoyable week although as mentioned above it is a good bit cooler than I had hoped.

And I'll spend my weekend at home on the computer, as if by chance there are a lot of orders for my work, and if I do not do them at the weekend, it would be very, very bad.

Meds have bought her BP down to normal but she's still getting tired really easily so can't do a lot. More blood tests this morning which I think is to look at hormone levels as they think she may be going through early menopause (very early at 39!)

I hope they get it sorted for her soon. I know a few people on blood pressure medication. It can take a while to find the right balance of meds, but it works well when the answer is found.
