I got very used to ACC in the Jag and would try to get it in another car. It was quite old tech and did suffer from the "braking too soon / too hard" issue mentioned above at times and cut out at 25ish mph. But it did make motorway driving much more relaxing.

Our Qashqai has adaptive cruise and, having used it regularly and found it to be so good, I wouldn't have CC without it now. Eva hasn’t got adaptive and having been a bit miffed at first I’m now not bothered. The Mini has it as did the Gorilla and most hire cars I get have it. I have recently started to find it too obtrusive, braking or backing off too early where I wouldn’t. It also always defaults to being 50 car lengths behind the car in front when clearly, as a BMW driver, I want to be 2” off the rear bumper of the car ahead. There is also the matter that I have got so used to using the steering wheel buttons on Eva to manage cruise in the same way radar does that it’s kind of redundant. Ventilated seats and surround view though…… must haves. Amused to see that auto dimming mirrors are options on Porsches. 🤦 Our Mini has cruise but not the adaptive sort. Having read all those stories recently about various cars misreading roadside signs, I am not tempted. Possibly the cabin just has better acoustics, but so far I’d wager the BOSE in my Macan is definitely a cut above the HK that the 440i had.

Linking adaptive cruise to speed limits is optional (and not selected in my car), for now anyway….. It’s very rare that speed limits are read wrong in my experience (had it on last 2 cars) but the brakes being applied when you pass a lorry with a ‘speed limited’ sticker on isn’t something I fancy experiencing. Speed limit recognition is a great feature on its own though. HK in BMWs is OK, a massive improvement on the standard speakers but I think the much cheaper Dynaudio in the Golf is better than HK was in my 535d and various 3 series I’ve tried. Good to hear that the Bose is better.

The Bose is decent in the macan ,crap in the gt3 (engine and road noise overwhelm it ) .
