I think it is due to be launched later this week so I should imagine the pictures of it should be leaked quite soon.

I saw the trailers on FB then one in the flesh (disguised) the next day (last Thursday).
It does not look quite as "somewhat raised normal car" as the F Pace, its a bit more generic X1-sized SUV with the smaller dimensions, but if the F Pace is anything to go by it will look good and drive well. It will become a Mrs ALF wish list item, for sure...
Sitting alongside F Paces and Macans, they clearly have a driving position somewhere between a normal car and a typical SUV, I would like a go in one to see just how raised they feel, and how that affects handling - subjective and objective. My only frames of SUV and proper off-roader reference, as a driver, are a full Disco, and the new Disco sport. The first felt fine for what it was but not my thing, ridiculously tall and heavy. The latter felt smaller, lighter and firmer but still had a nasty "toppling over" sensation allied to sod-all feedback as to grip levels when I attempted some rapid roundabout action. Which is usually my SUV issue - nice idea, but I don't like actually being in one! There is a useful compromise at some height level however - our C Max loses nothing in the handling stakes for being a bit higher than a normal car, and is genuinely enjoyable to drive.

I'm a bit behind on the E-Pace as its not really my cup of tea.
Who are they targeting in terms of price, performance and range? Is it to battle the small Tesla that's coming or are they trying to compete in the 70-100k space.

The E-Pace is a Jaguar Evoque to be less polite about it. I'm sure they share surprisingly few parts but it's that sort of size and I believe a little cheaper. They're going to be everywhere.

Oh, and it's not electric.

I had overlooked this one too. Yes, I'm sure it will go down a storm outside leisure centres nationwide.

I can't recall the name of the one you are thinking about - the electric car - that really will be interesting!

Damn dyslexia mixing up E's and I's. Sorry, got rather excited that this was the I-Pace coming out of nowhere. E-Pace however, that'll sell like nothing Jag has done before

It looks a bit like a Macan. It will obviously sell really well.

Surely inevitable. I really do hope this is the car that puts Jaguar back in the mainstream.

They're going to be everywhere. +1 This will sell really well. That chassis which will now underpin the Evoque, Discovery Sport and now E-Pace will speak for quite a big % of total JLR production. Disco Sport is already JLR's fastest selling vehicle, overtaking Evoque in sales per month.

Probably because it's the one that's least-chavvy and least-expensive,

But will the Jaguar dealer and servicing network be able to cope with the numbers. They also have to learn (in Glasgow at least) that customers require good service and respect. If they go mainstream that is a must learn lesson.

The Disco sport is JLR's fastest selling vehicle? It's effing grim!
The I Pace is very interesting, it looks great in orange in those pics to my eyes!

The Disco Sport is a great looking car IMO. It is packaged remarkably well for its size.

I didn't like the Disco Sport when it was launched, but I do now. I think the new Discovery has helped.....

I almost got a spray tan that day just to feel at home!

Is the Disco Sport the one that replaced the Freelander? It's ok in an inoffensive way but nothing startling, whereas the Disco 5 is startling in an offensive way!!

I can't see the photo but if it was eg white with black wheels, then that does for nearly any vehicle, but especially any SUV.

I can't see the photo but if it was eg white with black wheels, then that does for nearly any vehicle, but especially any SUV. I seem to remember it was white with black wheel, black roof and the obligatory dark rear privacy glass. Which as you say does for any car, especially SUV's. Round my way, I see a lot of fairly boggo Disco Sports - sober metallics, OK wheels, no rapper glass - and they look really good. I suspect that people who would not want an Evoque (too small), can't afford the new Disco 5, don't fancy an X or a Q are the market spot that the Disco Sport has bullseyed.

It's out there - release was last night. I like it and I'm pleased to see that they've basically lifted the F-Type interior into it. It will fly out of the showrooms. It does remind me of a jacked up Rover 200, but then I like the Rover 200 as well. Only disappointment is that once you get into petrol engines, it starts to get expensive. So although it starts "low" (we'll, £28k for a diesel FWD) you're soon heading well north of that. Like the Disco Sport and Evoque really. Also, it's going to be built in Austria by Magna as the Halewood factory is at full capacity already. That's a turn up. multiple image

That's around £700 a month on a pcp with 10% in. Cheaper to buy a Macan and probably an X5 and all the other suspects from the next size up.

Hardly loaded is it?
It will probably hold its value pretty well though but affording it in the first place might be the issue.

Good looking car and exactly what they need to be doing. Given they've had the roof off the Evoque I wonder if they'll do the same with this?
