GTS sounds great Jonny. It's what I'd go for if you are changing.

I was out for a drive with my local PCGB and a couple of them had macan gts (not the newest one) and they loved them .Personally although that turbo is fantastic spec it's mileage is offputting for that money, I would go gts myself.

Well, we've got to page 4 on this and I feel there's an inevitability that Racing will still be driving his 440i in 18 months time. Even IF he could make a decision he doesn't have spousal approval........

Nah. I reckon he’s in his local OPC signing up as we speak…….
….. for the new GTS. We can’t ALL be wrong, after all.

Well, we all said get the new car and it sounded like he really wanted the used Turbo and as Tim points out, it’s all back to front, as he test driving and getting finance quote before obtaining internal sign off. It’s not the first time…..

I'm now slightly concerned (?) that he hasn't responded. My suspicion is that he was about to head off the the local OPC to sign up, Mrs Racing got wind of his plan and is now getting some landscaping done in the back garden..... Since Jeff is the nearest could he perhaps put in a missing person report to the local rozzers?

He’s probably just catching up on work after spending rather too many hours thinking about Macao options!

He's probably working on his second job advising the British Virgin Islands

I had a very large deal closing yesterday with a 31-page list of closing deliverables. It was mildly stressful.
And today I got up early and took a plane to Italy for a flying visit to assist with the house stuff.
So just a case of not having had time. There is no tearing rush. By this time next year my car will be six years old and I will feel entitled to change it come what may - if that means ordering now, so be it.
I got passed by a new Macan S on the autostrada earlier. Looked jolly smart.

There’s no difference in lead times between an S and a GTS, and they are quoting Q2/3 next year.

Am very late to this but assume you have considered and discounted the Alfa QV pair at some point in the past. Would be interested to know why - the Stelvio surely ticks all the usability boxes, seems to be a benchmark for SUV dynamics and has that engine...

Fair point. If you're spending Macan money, a Stelvio is an obvious choice for the shortlist...

I simply don’t quite like the styling of the Stelvio if I’m being brutally honest.

Racing wants a Porsche, it’s been clear for ages. The Macan is the best way of getting the OK from Mrs Racing, but he’s only tested SUVs anyway.

I have just measured our new garage after being surprised how difficult it was to fit a Clio into it. It’s fine width-wise but I’m not sure it’s 5m deep.
A new-shape Clio is 4.1m. My car and a Macan are about 4.65m. A Stelvio and a new shape 4 are both 4.75m:
So I need to watch the size.

The question has to be asked.......
Why were you trying to fit a Clio into it?

Ah, I See.... the second house. That's certainly a wide garage, maybe so you can keep a bike in it as well as a car?

I reckon you could yank up the handbrake and get it in sideways.

Ah, I See.... the second house. That's certainly a wide garage, maybe so you can keep a bike in it as well as a car? Yes, I think they were made wider precisely to enable bikes to be kept in there as well - everyone cycles here. That garage is actually in the ruins of the town's Roman amphitheatre believe it or not. Down the other end they've left part of it visible for posterity - it was discovered when they dug down to create the garages.
