Nice but I've noticed Sytners really know how to charge for their cars.

Nice but I've noticed Sytners really know how to charge for their cars. I know a guy who retired a few years ago and now delivers cars for the Sytner group all over the country. He told me that from what he sees, Sytner buy cars at about £1K less than other groups and they sell them at c£1K more. He said they would give him a bit of discount if he wanted a car but he wasn't convinced the end result was any better than he could get elsewhere.

Nice but I've noticed Sytners really know how to charge for their cars. Indeed. But again no reason not to haggle in this market. Based on my car, they'll have offered the previous owner £19k tops so masses of fat in that one.

I prefer the analogue dials compared to the optional digital display. The latter already looks old, most will, fairly quickly as the technology continually moves on. Mind, the F3X digital display is far better than the display on the G2X versions. That looks about as advanced as a 90's video game, what were they thinking? It looks horrid, and the graphics already look dated.

It seemed a small trade-off for paying the pre-01/04-/17 tax rate that I got with the pre-facelift 440i.

They'll argue it has a rather special interior but I think most would counter that it's a bit of an acquired taste!

Thanks I'm as guilty of wanting the red interior as Mrs Tim Anyway a decision has been made and we're awaiting delivery (to the house, it's not a new car) of something.

We were looking at 3 car garages last night though.

I should've said triple garages really! After a spell working - as an accountant - in the motor trade I would certainly never entertain buying a garage (or working at one again). That's a whole other level of crazy.

We were looking at 3 car garages last night though. But you've already got 5 or 6. Are you having a bit of a cull or are you talking about 3 new members of the fleet?

Ffs When did "we'll repair that stone chip on the bonnet (through to the metal) and refurbish the alloys" become " we used a touch-up pen and er, forgot". Impending delivery of entirely predictable next car now pushed back another few days

It'll teach me (again) not to buy a car from a dealership with Clark in the name.
It won't be going back to them for servicing.

The last car we bought from a Clark branded company was the Punto Sporting we got in 2012. It was returned to them after 3 weeks. Different Clark though

Can you get the paint and wheels checked by an independent tech?

Yes, my best mate is an estimator/QC for a car bodyshop.
It'll be easy enough though - the stonechip was on the leading edge of the bonnet and the wheels were a bit marked on some of the spokes so I reckon I can spot if they're been done or not.

What is the car?

It has to be one of the John Clark cars. Probably the 430i because that came in the right colour combination.

It's the 430d that's not on the site anymore - same colours as the 430i though IF we take it! They've possibly replaced 1 50% worn rear tyre because it had a nail in it but not the other. This on an AUC. I'm waiting on a call from the salesman to see if this is actually true.

Salesman says AUC only requires tyre change if they’re under 3mm so it’s had 1 tyre due to a nail but all others are 4.6.

That does not sound right to me, the practice, not that they said it.
