Not pushing any buttons for me, and the interior brightwork is gaudy.

If this is the best they can do and BMW are still going to shoot themselves in both feet, Jag have a great opportunity. Will they use it though?

Isn't the S-Class supposed to be a luxury car? That looks rubbish and I hate touchscreens. I do however dislike every new S-Class compared to its predecessor so this fits the mold.

Another who doesn't like touch screens in cars. I like the look of the air vents, but my OCD would require that they are all perfectly aligned.

The rear looks like a Lexus.
I also despise massive touchscreens in cars.

I'm another touchscreen hater.
Why are all manufacturers moving to a generally triangular tail-light shape, are they all just as lazy as it seems?

It reminds me a little bit of the W140 in that that car seemed at the time to have a plain dashboard. Looking at the steering wheel it is rammed with buttons so I expect a lot of the controlling to be done by that and voice.

It makes the car look impossibly wide.

Nothing wrong with a subtle chrome strip across the back of the car..... There is really, I'm not a fan of chrome trim at all. If my car wasn't silver it would be much more noticeable and I would have replaced it with M Performance trim trip, which is gloss black to match the other trim.

Perhaps they think that grille will make it easier to move the peasants out of the way on the motorway?
The interior looks like you're driving a playstation game. Small wheel, big screen in front of you. And is it my eyes, or is that screen behind the wheel at a weird angle - it does not look straight on to the steering wheel.
But I'm sure that as it's an S Class it will still do what they do best and waft for miles effortlessly.

The rear in that view is quite nice, got a look of Audi A5/ Jaguar XE about it. It's a shame it is wedded to a front with a grill the wrong side of far too big.

The grille is too big, but far, far less offensive than the BMW bum cheeks. The rest is rather promising.
I quite like the current fashion for a chrome strip across the back.

It's the purple lighting that's hooked you isn't it?
Apart from the leather and the Rover SD1 dashboard (that look sticks in my mind and while it was fine in the 70s I don't like it on a modern car) I like that

On the loan one I had I found that it had a huge range of possible colours but they all seemed to be just a bit too "neon", as if the designer had spent too much time in a seedy nightclub.

I test drove an S class 2 years ago and have ridden in the back of a couple with the Executive seats. They’re a bit too wallowy for me and the steering is poor. I know super soft equals comfort for some people, but I don’t like the sensation. The standard 7 suspension was almost as bad, I’d end up driving everywhere in sport. The rear seats, even upgraded, aren’t all that comfortable surprisingly. They’re not bad, just not what you’d expect and miles off what you used to get as standard in the 7 series.

It's got the same general shape taillights as Audi, SEAT and a few others who I can't remember just now. Is there a legal requirement for that shape?

Is there a legal requirement for that shape? Don't be so stupid.
The parts company that makes rear lights for a lot of manufacturers ordered a lot of boxes in that shape to post them out in. Tt was a lot easier if designers helped out and made the lights fit so they did.

I'm an idiot. Thanks for clearing that up, such an obvious reason. I look forward to the next box design with bated breath.
