They're gonna have to put a cap on how cheap heating oil becomes otherwise we'll all start bailing out of gas or green energy for cost saving measures.

I don’t think it’s going to last sadly.

Heating oil is under 30p. We've stocked up! Yes, I've been keeping an eye on it. Boilerjuice currently have it at 24ppl for us. I've still got 600 litres left at the moment so not in any rush.

The various nations have already reached an agreement to end the dispute and reduce production.

On another note, freezers are back in stock at AO so I have ordered one to be delivered on Sunday. That should give us a bit of breathing space if panic buying starts again. The big advantage is that I can use the freezer part of the fridge freezer for dog food.

My fridge freezer has been on the verge of packing up for a while as it lived in the garage for a while so I might do that sooner rather than later depending on the price. No idea what the going rate is now.

We bought a fridge/freezer from Currys a couple of weeks ago, got it delivered a week past Sunday, unpacked it to find a dented door where the seal is and the glass shelves had come loose and bust the inside of the door. Tried to contact Currys to get it returned and apart from registering it with their resolve team are still waiting to hear back. Tried to escalate it and been told its another 4 days before we can do that. Arseholes
Just to be clear, this is not a panic buying fridge freezer, we currently only have a built under fridge that is just about adequate for 2 people, we have had no freezer since moving house!!

We started using the new american fridge freezer which is part of the new kitchen extension ....lesson to read the instructions - it is a 4 door model half fridge/half freezer and one feature is one freezer side can be set up as a fridge - so you can have 3/4 fridge.
3 weeks ago I put in most of a pack of Costco chicken breasts split into bags of two .... didn't think/assuming that it would be defaulted to freezer but alas it wasn't as I discovered well chilled chicken breasts when I went to get a couple yesterday - I don't fancy eating them 3 weeks beyond their use by date - lesson learnt and now set to freezer!!

I’ve had this massive slab of stone in the corner of the back garden since we built the kitchen and I’ve been wanting to shift it a while so I can put chickens where it was but it was simply too heavy to move. Until: Further to the post above, I've finally completed Stone Henge of North Yorkshire. In years to come people will visit and wonder how it was raised onto the stones.

I've got several corner fence posts I need removed and I had the foolish idea of digging them out by hand but clearly Michael likes to use all the features of his Discovery so, Michael, next time your out and about can you bring your car and tow rope up here?

If they're not held in by concrete you can usually rock them side to side enough to then be able to lift them out.

If they're not held in by concrete you can usually rock them side to side enough to then be able to lift them out. I did that with the square posts but these are the bigger, round, corner posts that are also used to mount gates. I've only started trying to remove one so far and by close of play last night I'd dug a 2 foot deep hole all around it and its still in solidly. I feel I might be better off taking an axe to it!

If they are corner strainers they may have cross braces underground.

It's looking like we all better get used to this; Professor Neil Ferguson is now saying that we will have to pretty much maintain this current state of affairs until a vaccine is created, which is some 18 months away, being optimistic.
So that's no pubs, restaurants, clubs, going to sporting events, air travel, any kind of travel really, queuing outside shops to be allowed in, etc.

Agreed. There will have to be some sort of compromise. I think there will be civil disobedience before we get to that stage though.

Have been doing some DIY and tidying up. Managed to get the main patio pressure washed - it hasn't been done in two years and was desperate. It looks a load better. I just need to weed the grout lines.
I've also moved my gun cabinet to make room for the new freezer. Incidentally, my licence ran out at the beginning of March, but as I had put my application for renewal more than 8 weeks prior, they have to grant a temporary extension. That runs out next week and I have just received a phone call to say they will grant an unconditional 6 month extension and hopefully I will get my visit at some point before that expires!
Other than that, I am still busy on the farm looking after the cows, probably until the end of the month.

I could make some remark about having to look after just one cow.....

I sent my shotgun licence renewal away last weekend - which is due to expire at the end of July! A week after I received the original letter from Police Scotland, I had another saying they would not be conducting the usual home vist to inspect storage/security provision (same as it's been for 15 years now, so not a problem) or to conduct an interviw, which will now be done by phone.
No mention of any sort of extension though, perhaps due to the very early notice of renewal. We shall see.

It's coming to two weeks since I've last stepped out of the house now.
In that time I've done:
Work (yes there's still some to be done, albeit somewhat less now)
Netflix Amazon Prime Video (there was Seinfeld on there a while ago but they took it down now. Still other stuff available though)
Games: Football Manager, Euro Truck Simulator, and on the phone I've downloaded the excellent Grid Autosport, as well as something called Taxi Sim for a bit of mindless fun.

Painted my railings the other day before it started to rain yesterday. Cleaned the front steps and porch with the pressure washer. Dug all the earth from next door's garden out of the drain gulley in front of my garage. Apparently I'm to do some dusting today. Got to say, even in these 'exasperating' times, you really do know how to live!! Talk about yer rock'n'roll lifestyle .. .. ..

Making stew today, pork with cauliflower leaf's, carrots and leak. Chuck in a chicken soup as stock and a stock cube. Seeing as it is being slow cooked it was not a massive task but it is something to do rather than ready cooked meals. Made another bird feeder out of coconut shell yesterday which took a little figuring out. Anything to keep the grey cells active and not stare at the walls. That way lies madness, I am getting tempted to paint the bloody things and THAT means moving everything again. At that stage I swiftly move on to something else. Thankfully. Veggie burgers last night (Heck) that we not that bad but could have done with relish imho. Drawing cars in 3d again. Still not much cop but time consuming and again, they occupy what mind I have left. Or right hemisphere.....
Just some links to simple colouring pictures and simple card models for the kids.
I have some simple 2CV models of all the major types if anyone is interested I can post them.

Just spotted a couple of nobheads on big sports bikes doing about 100 in a 40. Obviously going food shopping...
